Downpipe nut removal tool

I know most of you guys here are DIYers. I also know that most of you already have downpipes on your cars.

But check out this little tool we whipped up to conquer that stubborn passenger side nut.

Spread the word, it should relieve a lot of stress out there, especially for people swapping on jackstands.

What, no ratchet option? ;D

I will spread the word, provided it doubles as a bottle opener.

The cap would have to be pretty small.

We considered adding the opener option on the other end, but our brand is so PC these days and ultimately we decided we didn’t want to condone drinking and driving.

The old days were much simpler…

Lol… Nice work… Little pricey but would have saved me an hour or so of frustration… Thanks for sharing…

what did you use for material?

good work, more elegant than my typical solution of a harbor freight wrench a torch and some elbow grease

We used hardened tool steel.

This is a pro grade tool, like our pulley puller, even though we’re primarily marketing to DIYers.

Lol I like your sense of humour. Cool product I’ll post it on our local audi boards

Ant that the truth…great tool. Price is right when you consider other specializied tool prices

Had to come out with this after I spend multiple hours last summer swearing at my car while trying to remove the factory DPs…

At first I thought it was a bit pricey, then I remembered those two hours I spent under my car on jack stands and thought about what my time was worth. You’re too late to save me, but hopefully you save some other people some pain, heartache, and knuckle skin.

Would have saved me two hours of cursing and then $280 I paid a local shop to do it after I gave up! LOL! Nice work! ;D

Better than I. Spent 3 hours on my back, 2 on that stupid nut. By the time I got around to getting some more tools it was too late. Ended up going to my shop and they hammered it off.

Well it seems reasonably priced for a custom tool, especially if it has be validated for the intended purpose. The alternatives will be more expensive.

A simple extension and crows foot adapter will work just as well. Harbor freight is a cheap option, but I’d still buy this with an exhaust as an add on.

I have a set of indexing ratcheting wrenches that work great for this. What I really want is something to get the three catalytic converter nuts off without breaking the studs.
