Ebwerks (or does it?)

The real news here is that the RS4 is pretty fucking brilliant in stock form. But somehow they’ve missed the point. Somehow your’s, and now Mistro’s times are a deliberate attempt to cheat a good stock time to disprove other parts.

If you are the JHM fanboi they claim you to be, you would never have published your times. JHM exhaust and tune gave a 0.6 sec delta, now you’ve reduced that to 0.5 sec. If EBWerks really wanted to prove their exhaust works, they’d put one on a stock car with before and after times. They should come to Ontario and put one on your RS4!

another great point. By running fast stock times, we are reducing the apparent delta that the various modifications, including JHM’s, deliver.

As I said when I went 12.75 and these same people called me a JHM fanboy (even though my shit is stock lol) I would say that my time was pretty damaging to JHM on two fronts

a) as mentioned, stock vs XXX delta is reduced
b) JHM’s carbon buildup solution seemed less necessary when a 40,000 mile no carbon clean car can run what I did.

As for ebwrks, I think $3000 is the number (that they would need to pay me to put their exhaust on my car)

give enrique a call maybe he is down with it.

but you may have to put a benriqueWerks sticker or license plate holder on your car.

You think they have that much capital in the company? To afford a sticker?

Is enrique’s dad going to have to dip into the petty cash at his company?

Saki, why have you not yet mentioned that your car is not Canadian spec? I recall you coming to the states to pick yours up

No, my car is Canadian (which is the same as fucking American spec anyway lol)

That was my B7 S4 that I bought in Atlanta.

this was no doubt another great one from mick

you got to keep a thread on mick statements

jhm install

canadian cars are 100 lbs lighter than us…that is why saki is faster blah blah blah

Saki – just in case you wanted to buy something

I have contacted the webhost admin, Josh the owner of QW, and a activate moderator for information in becoming a vendor (this was a few weeks ago) with no reply and also posted for more information here

Just curious what the intent of the cross-post is here? It is basically to add fuel to what seemed to be a dying fire? Seriously…

So he posted that he wants to become an advertiser…then posted an advertisement? Lol what a airhead. Good luck Enrique. I am sure quattro world wants to canniblize their a AWE, APR and 034 business.

They are advertisers on 6 speedonline and when I questioned the validity of Enrique referring to Ben as their “head engineer” (when he has zero qualifications and is a 19 year old who goes to a technical arts college…thus us a fucking slap in the face to proper professional engineers), a moderator deleted my post and threatened to ban me lol.

head engineer? Does that kid even go to school? He makes it seem like hes a 40 year old guy well established in the community…if theres a 19 year old kid as a position in a company that is a direct flag of caution…especially with his history of BS

Yes, seriously

This is the first that I have seen of pricing for the exhaust and actually thought it was interesting. Posted it here to let others see…good enough for you??

Look, I don’t claim to be judge/jury/executioner by any means. But, lets be honest here. Your goal was pretty clear when you start with “Saki-just in case you want to buy something” when he mentions just a few posts above that the company would need to pay him thousands to put their exhaust on. You wanted to add more shit to a shit storm.

I just don’t get it. This site has the potential to be the best at delivering technical information on the platform but it appears that a bulk of the posts here are cross-posts to somewhere else with the intent to some how belittle (or sometimes compliment, but rarely) the other forum or poster’s view/knowledge. I just don’t see that as productive. Its actually destrucive IMO.

I guess i just try to abide by the golden rule…

I think he posted the information, along with some levity. What’s the big deal? As for ‘this site is just crossposts’ I think every forum is full of crossposts. There are innovative, information threads, and there are other threads that link to other information, good or bad.

The beauty of this site is that if something is blatantly wrong on another site, it can be discussed, addressed here so members here will have the full story.

Further, here is the main B6/7 S4 sections first page of threads. Show me where ‘the bulk of the posts here are cross-posts’. Instead, I see discussion of various parts, build threads, a summary sticky of intro information for noobs, the most thorough, unbiased discussion/evaluation of the various supercharger options available to the RS4, a thread where someone asks for unbiased help in evaluating his exhaust purchase, dragstrip tips (you shoudl read that one), you asking for help (and getting it) with your shifter install, etc.

There are like 3 ‘cross posts’ (out of 20 threads) , mostly informative and valuable and maybe 1 chatterbox type thread. The ‘facts equal hate’ thread discussing the paradox of typical forums where people share info about their parts, but when it’s clear they’re actually MISinforming the community, those who correct the info flow are deemed ‘haters’ by softheaded apoloigists who worry about 1 guy’s feelings rather than protecting the integrity of information that can affect thousands of users. This thread we’re posting in was posted to shine a spotlight on the fact that despite mick proclaiming his ebwerks is great and performs well, it actually added ZERO delta. Rather than address this on quattrofail, the guys all patted him on the back and said ‘way to go mick!’. Again…I’d much rather hurt someone’s ego and inform people, than have a bunch of people say ‘wow that exhaust is great, here’s my $4000!’

Yes very common. Maybe a dozen guys have said this…even though JHM have sold thousands of shifters. Common enough to put very in bold letters!

TypeRx…someone must have told you that you do no wrong your whole life, but dude…stop being so fucking pious.

Glass houses TypeRX. Glass houses.

TypeRX seems to be sitting on the fence…the grass is greener on the AR side. If the cross posts bother you, don’t click on them, swesna came over here on the QW fail train and started to like it here. The funny thing is he busts the QW posse’s balls more than anyone.

Back to the “head engineering” comments. It is ridiculous that he would even use that terminology. If anything he should just call him a simple “designer” and let customers ask what his credentials are. I hope Ben never needs to get a real job…it would be hilarious to see his resume with Head Engineer at EBwerks for his experience. He would get laughed out of the interview…Head Engineer with no degree or certifications…hmm This is just one more thing that makes them look shady.

Look, is it ruining my day, hell no. Haha. But, it does disturb me when I see great potential for this site but the “attitude” portrayed at times holds it back IMO. Much of it is downright childish.

I surf a large variety of sites and take something away from each. But the common unifier of the really good ones is that there is a community feel that transcends the forum itself, not attempts to create animosity between other sites or users. Users who at the end of day should be aligned on the purpose of the forum they go to.

I agree that the “truth” is fantastic but how you deliver it is just as important. It can be delivered on the originating site. Especially if done in a respectful and fact-based way.

Perhaps my word choice was subpar. A clarification, I said ‘a’ bulk, but I can see how that can be misperceived to mean a majority. In any case, out of the list below I see several threads that were created not to really inform but rather to incite hate. What for? Is it really that important? Or they address an issue not even raised here but on a different forum. Seems silly to me to create a conversation in room A to address a conversation being had in room B. Seems rather passive aggressive. But whatever.

And that’s what I do? Spread fear mongering and rumors? Interesting. If you think the quote below (that you pulled out of context) is doing so, have at it. I never claimed to have experienced the below, but I am not allowed to verbalize a concern I actually had? Nice.

I don’t even know Mick but for some reason several of you appear like it is a mission of sorts to refute everything that guy has to say or to go straight to the ad hominem. If that’s how you want to use your time, more power to you. But again, my opinion is that the “truth” can be delivered in a much more tactful way.

[quote=you]What can I say…I am nervous about it going out of adjustment, adjusting it the first time, and it just being a general PITA. Perhaps FUD, but I dunno. Seems like a VERY common complaint.

Wow, you just can’t let that go, huh (I recall you bringing this up before and me clarifying even then). It was definitely a concern that I had and a big reason why the shifter sat in my basement for several months.
Funny that I actually had little to no difficulty in adjusting it. Installing it was a PITA, but that was mostly because of how the shift linkage was engineered by Audi, not JHM. But, it is pretty difficult for me to comprehend how you can refute that adjusting the shifter is a difficulty for many when the manufacturer themselves put together a pretty lengthy video on how to adjust it right.

Not at all. I make mistakes pretty damn frequently and am far from perfect. And, I’m never afraid to admit that or ask for help. This behavior is actually one of the key things that has made me successful professionally.

With that all being said, my intent was certainly not to get into a pissing match about any of this. I’ve said my piece on it, and hope that the forum gods here consider it as part of the site evolves. And now I’ll brace for some more negative karma! LOL

I have never given you negative karma for the record. I’ve given out plenty of positive to lots of people though. The only time I give negative to someone is when I think they should be banned from the forum. It’s the members’ way of banning someone, effectively…‘god’ will see who is mega negative, then evaluate whether or not they should be banned.

With respect to your shifter, I’m merely pointing out that you too engage in negative behaviour that helps NOBODY, spreading fear-based shifter chat based on no experience. So no, you’re not perfect. If you want a website with a community feel where everyone is nice and everyone kisses everyone else’s ass, I’m not sure this one is the place to be. Try quattrofail where the majority of members all pat each other on the back, no matter what the truth is. Sounds like you’re more interested in a support group than an open forum. Again, this goes back to my earlier comment that you’re used to being coddled and praised your whole life.

p.s. I think it is funny that my quoting you word for word is considered ‘taking it out of context’? There was no applicable context…I had mentioned how great the shifter felt on Axel’s car, and then you started spouting off about how VERY common adjustment problems and having the shifter get misaligned was. Pretty weird comment.

I never said that is what I wanted. I like challenge and being challenged. But, I do think there is a respectable way to do it. But hey, we can disagree on that.

Hey, I actually do like all 5 audi sites I visit (audirevolution, audizine, quattroworld, rs246, and very rarely audiworld and euroaddiction) for different things. Also, the traffic on any given site is pretty slow with the RS4 specifically, so the more the merrier if I have some downtime. You’ll also notice I don’t do the bandwagon thing and refer to any of those forums with a derrogotary name or have an automatic view of their users. Again, I feel like there is a respectable way of doing things. But I’ve quickly learned that this like arguing about religion. Neither side will be ablet convince the other that their belief is “wrong”. ;D

And I for one am proud I wasn’t coddled or born into a rich family or anything like that. Forced me to learn many things on my own, which I believe has made me a better person. But thanks for your assumption. Some quick detective work on me will quickly reveal that I had a very typical upbringing.

Sorry, I think it is when I had a post just a few above that talked about why I was holding off on installing my shifter. I made it clear that I hadn’t actually installed it yet because it SEEMed like a very common problem. Maybe I should have capped SEEM instead of VERY.

In any case, to appease you (and to complete the story!) I went ahead and updated my post to include my actual install experience, even though I posted that elsewhere as well.

I actually think the pricing information is informative.

I also think the price is not too bad for the exhaust. Just have to prove it actually producing some tq/hp.

I bet if someone else on this board saw the information they would have posted it as well.

I think you are spending way too much time debating me posting this information.

Yes, I was busting saki’s ballz. He knows I like to do that…no big deal.

So typerx…I guess this means you don’t know what “taken out of context” means?

Also nobody said you were rich as a kid I did say you were told you can do no wrong and coddled though
