ECU removal

Hey. Could anyone help with ECU number 2 removal on the RS4? I recently got a JHM tune and for some reason, I’m getting a code for:

008533 - Supply Voltage for Fuel Injector Group D
P2155 - 008 - Electrical Malfunction - MIL ON

There are a couple misfire codes also but I want to make sure the ECU is plugged in or properly working before replacing. Thanks.

Did you clear the code and see if it returns?

With respect to misfires, there are loads of rs4s getting misfire codes this year. Tuned or untuned, modified or stock. Guess the cars are just getting old. Assuming the tune is the cause can make you miss something simple. Member ‘bangoman’ just had a group of multiple misfire codes on his bone stock cpo car. Audi determined he needed a carbon clean and that seems to have helped strangely enough . Other people have needed a couple of new injectors. Others have had various little connections loose causing them.

If the CODE is a result of the tune (note that I said the code, not the problem that produced the code) it could be because the tune will ask more of the engine and before doing so will actually INCREASE the safety standards parameters I. E. make them more stringent. This is to ensure the car is up for it and able to handle the additional demands the tune will place on it. Something not triggering a code on a stock car may trigger one on a tuned car.
People assume it is the opposite with the jhm tune…that safety stuff is turned down or off, and that the car is informing them of a new tune-caused problem. Those people are ignorant and generally belong on quattroworld lol.

I wouldn’t go yanking out the ecu anyway. It’s probably the third or fourth thing I would do personally.

First clear all codes and see what returns. Second check that maintenance is up to date (coils, spark, filters fuel and air), then get deeper into it if that’s all done.

Sorry, I guess I should have said I just had a CC done 13k ago and the first thing I did when the CEL came on, was change out coil packs and spark plugs. Jake from JHM had asked me to check for any loose connections or any fuses that were blown. The root of the problem is from ECU number 2 he believes or there could be something pinched under the manifold. I only said JHM tune because that was the last thing I had done. Jake had asked me to unplug ECU number 2 and plug back in.

The root of the misfire is a voltage supply issue resulting in a faulty fire injector. This part is not tune related as you have noted.

  • Clear codes note how long before return of codes
  • The ecu can be removed by taking your rain tray off and looking up onto the intermediate fire wall

The codes come immediately after I recycle the ignition. I know where ecu 2 is located. I just don’t want to break anything bc it doesn’t seem to just come out. There is a metal bar holding it down with no visible screws. Is there another way to go about it? Lol I have FaceTime on my iPhone and u could point to what I need to do. Thanks again.
