Did you clear the code and see if it returns?
With respect to misfires, there are loads of rs4s getting misfire codes this year. Tuned or untuned, modified or stock. Guess the cars are just getting old. Assuming the tune is the cause can make you miss something simple. Member ‘bangoman’ just had a group of multiple misfire codes on his bone stock cpo car. Audi determined he needed a carbon clean and that seems to have helped strangely enough . Other people have needed a couple of new injectors. Others have had various little connections loose causing them.
If the CODE is a result of the tune (note that I said the code, not the problem that produced the code) it could be because the tune will ask more of the engine and before doing so will actually INCREASE the safety standards parameters I. E. make them more stringent. This is to ensure the car is up for it and able to handle the additional demands the tune will place on it. Something not triggering a code on a stock car may trigger one on a tuned car.
People assume it is the opposite with the jhm tune…that safety stuff is turned down or off, and that the car is informing them of a new tune-caused problem. Those people are ignorant and generally belong on quattroworld lol.
I wouldn’t go yanking out the ecu anyway. It’s probably the third or fourth thing I would do personally.
First clear all codes and see what returns. Second check that maintenance is up to date (coils, spark, filters fuel and air), then get deeper into it if that’s all done.
