Electric vs gas

The only people who say this about cars are people who traditionally buy the most expensive car they can afford. Generally young guys with decent jobs who live at the limit of, or beyond their means. It’s a really funny thing.

Personally I could comfortably afford a model S p85d (or rs7 etc) but I think

1 it’s too big
2 it’s a terribly expensive car Vs it’s competition
3 i fundamentally disagree with the fact that governments subsidize the fuck out of it. America is bankrupt… But they are giving money in subsidies to electric cars for rich people. Fucking stupid.
4 spending 100k+ on a car seems nuts.

The wealthiest people I know drive marginally impressive cars. My good friends family has 9 digit net worth and his dad drives an ACURA TL. His mom drives a diesel Jetta. This is one example (of many). It’s the rule, not the exception. The douchebags with the flashiest possible car they can afford are often presumptive and assume everyone shops like they do… Foolishly. Funny how the people who actually CAN’T legitimately afford things (those who spend at the limit) are the ones most concerned about what everyone else buys.

No, it’s because you can’t afford it. Didn’t you hear?

Probably wouldn’t ever buy a Tesla the way they are, nor could I afford one even, but I do have a little insider information on a matter related to the Tesla cars. There is a battery technology in development right now, by one individual I might add, that Tesla may be purchasing in the near future

It will supposedly net you over 1000 miles per full charge. Not saying it’s a guarantee, but I know for a fact Tesla has shown interest.

Zuckerberg drives a GTI. Solid choice http://jalopnik.com/mark-zuckerberg-drives-a-volkswagen-gti-1495464834

There was a thread on reddit about flash cars and the rich. All the kids working at posh golf courses agreed that the truly rich would turn up in their comfy acura or merc play a round, maybe a sandwich and beer after. The sort of rich ordered the fancy wines and the caviar while having their discover card rejected for zero credit.

I had the pleasure of staying with some big pharma execs family. Bona fida millionaires. Their favourite booze? Carling lol

Having no basis of comparison for a fully featured electric car, some people will dismiss them altogether as impractical because they don’t like Elon, or the current model, or read something about battery fires, etc. The selling price is high but total cost of ownership can be competitive with cars tens of thousands cheaper.

Anyway, if you’re a true car enthusiast you’ll keep an open mind to what Tesla has in store. It’s not inconceivable that they’ll have a 900 HP sports car for under $100k in a few years.

Spending $100k on a car is obscene and I haven’t done it even if it is affordable - I simply don’t see the value. I bought the cheapest Porsche and I’m more than happy with it. Though I like the 2016 C63 AMG, I won’t sell my S4 a few years prematurely to get into it.

The guy who founded YouTube has an A4 prestige (or did in 2010 when I was at the dealer). Kevin Rose (Digg) is into cars and buys every new Porsche GT or RS model. Zuck is not into cars and is anti-social, which is ironic for the founder of a social network. Most bay area CEO’s are into electric cars because they want to live in the near future. I know a lot of people that make over $200k a year and ride a bike to work or take a bus (they hate cars, some people might label them a hipster). I can’t talk about cars around them, so forum. Then there’s the people who drive a Prius to work and have a 911 they drive on the weekend and don’t tell anyone about (the guilty feeling middle class millionaires). A lot of young guys get into an M5 or a GTR or some other $100k model, but then they’re too afraid to wreck it to bring it on track.

What does this have to do with APR vs Revo? >:(
