Hello all,
I have a question regarding a spliced power source.
I have something I want to install that needs power, but I need it to have power from the moment the ignition is turned on. Now, in say a pos 1998 Ford Exploder, I would splice straight into the ignition circuit so when the key is turned, there is power. My worry is that with all the crazy electronics, anti theft, and yada yada, I really don’t want to splice into this cars ignition.
(unless I really do have nothing to worry about but good luck convincing me that 
)
So my question is what would be a different power source that is hot from ignition on to ignition off. I was originally going to use the strip DRLs but soon realized those turn off when the headlights are on (Bummer because I wish they stayed on permanently)
I also thought about the power to the DVD player for the NAV, not sure if that’s a brilliant idea or idiotic.
Anybody have any other ideas?

(PS this item I’m installing uses such a small amount of power it’s negligible)
