Electrics- arg.

I got a car wash two days ago and when I shut the car off at home one of the electric fans on the passenger side was going full fucking tilt for a number of minutes. I finally disconected the battery and it, of course, shut off. I got another wash yesterday and all was well. I scanned the car this am and got the following: 18308 - Coolant Fan Control 2 - P1900 - 004 Open or Shrot to Ground - Intemittent.

How on earth does one go about tracking down that short? Full disclosure - I am an electrical monkey (i.e a spazz, not a robotic monkey).

If I had to guess I’d say your shorted out the fan control module. It’s the big block sitting right behind the lower section of the grill. You can’t miss it, it has several 12ga. Wires coming out of it. I’d unplug them and blow them out with compressed air and see if the issue goes away.

Check the fuses first of course. I would hope a fuse pops before the short destroys the module but you never know…
