Ok, so I just changed out my brake pads, simple enough job. I went over to a buddies house since he has a lift, but I forgot my VCDS connector. Went ahead a proceeded to change out the rear brake pads figuring I could just reset the EPB afterwards, no big deal. I retracted the brake manually and finished the job. Drove the car home with the expected EPB faults and flashing lights, hooked up the VCDS and I am not able to clear out the fault code or make the lights go away. Is there a specific way to do this after the fact or what is the fix? Can I disable the EPB within the VCDS? Any help is much appreciated. Surely i’m not the only person who has done this right?!
I don’t even know how you were able to gat the rear breaks off I have never even been able to even get the piston back.
But still I have had the system flake out. Here it’s how I got it.
Check and clear all the codes globally in the car. Select three clear all codes option in vag com. Check to see if you can communicate after that… I wasn’t so I set the parking brake. Then turned off the parking brake. It wouldn’t let me turn out of unless I had my seatbelt on.
If still having issues. Undo the battery for 20 min and try again
