Engine out preventative maintenance

I may have a problem with a clogged cat. If so, I think I’ll embark on some engine out preventative maintenance mentioned in this post http://audirevolution.net/forum/index.php?topic=3145.msg91288#msg91288. Are these the correct part numbers for the items that are known to be at risk of wear or are extremely difficult to replace?

Is there anything else I should put on my list?

plugs packs if you havent already. Check the fuel filter. If you have the intake off see about the intake spacers. I have heard they help not only keep the heat down adding performance but keeping the heat down gives a dencer charge of air and some guys are saying keeping more carbon away

Thread bump… another thread about the service schedule for these cars mentions maintenance items that involve pulling the motor, so I think this thread would make a great resource for all the different items one should address while the motor is already out.
