Hi I have an Audi s6 2007 the car is fine and good with antifreeze and fan seems fine whenever I’m driving the car the temperature will randomly go up and when I pull over cut it off then back on the temperature goes back to optimal temperature I have no idea why it’s doing that but on side note not sure if it’s associated but the fuel gauge works whenever it wants it will either stay at e or goes to how much gas is actually in it. Would anyone have insight on this issue? and I did order a Ross tech waiting whenever that comes
I already have a feeling with my car it will be either water pump or thermostat and it has 69k miles I do have my old v8 still which has water pump and thermostat are compatible I may do a switch and see if it does it
I had that happen before––and then a month later the hose blew off the thermostat and I lost all coolant. Fortunately, I was only a short tow to my local mechanic. But don’t let it happen with your wife in the car, you’ll never live it down…
I would replace the thermostat just in case…
As mixofia said. The thermostat has been shown to be an issue on many guys cars so it wouldn’t be something new to hear yous is having some issues. I would definitely look into a new water pump and thermostat.
Yes you are right I changed it yesterday I spent 7 hours under that car in complete hell changing it until It started snowing and I had an inch of snow on me from the snow storm hitting NY the car doesn’t overheat and it works I saw that the old thermostat had rust on it
