Excited New Member to the 3.0

While this isn’t my first 2002 A4 3.0 it is the first one I plan on adding more power to.

I actually sold my other 2002 A4 a few months ago looking for a green S4. As you can imagine the green or cactus as its called is a hard color to come by. I was doing my research on the S4’s and found that the B5 S4 is a maintenance whore, the 04 S4 is plagued with issues and the B7 S4’s are too much for me to afford.

I love the look of the B6 chassis so I narrowed down my search for the B6 green S4. While reading on AZ I came across the JHM DOMINATION in the n/a game then I saw the JHM 3.0 post on AZ from there I found this site a few weeks ago and after that I really found out how great a car the A4 3.0 is. Not long after I was educated about the possible new future for the 3.0 I found my green 3.0 A4 Automatic.

I had some old RS4 Reps I tossed on and here is how she looks.

What does the future hold for the Green Hornet. Well Its not my DD. So I’m going to just build it for a fun winter car and kid cruiser.

I was going to spend lots of money on a S4 and mod it out. So I’M not apposed to spending some good money modding this A4 out. With all the Excitement going on right now. Im looking to do lots of testing on The car stock.

I want to go to the dyno stock then the track. Right now the money mods for the S4 n/a guys seems to be.

Dp’s and a good exhaust
Intake spacers
Tune
L/W rotors
I have a TipTronic transmission so Ill see If JHM makes a program for that and Ill get that as well.

My goal is to add these mods and pick up .6 and 4mph in the 1/4 mile. From what ever I am stock. I know justincredible and a few other guys are located in Mi. Im located in Michigan as well so maybe we can meet up?

You really don’t see very many Goodwood Green A/S4’s out there. Good to see you stuck out for the color you wanted and finally got it.

…little off topic but oh well.

Count, I though you were local to MI and not CA. You still working on that guy Bryan’s Allroad? How’s it coming along? I keep checking back on his post on AZ but there hasn’t been any updates since the last time he posted about having the wrong pistons which kinda screwed up the whole plan.

So I got a few codes and I would love to get some input on them.

I got some cam position codes miss fire codes and I think I coolant code. Any ideas on how normal this is or what the easy fix is… or hard fix if thats the case

the coolant temp sensor is common code if thats the one you have, replace with the green one and its a quick do it yourself fix. I do not know about the cam positon sensor? I know mine was replaced by the previous owner of my car so maybe they are common for failure? maybe it can be cleaned? and my guess its causing your misfire. But my knowledge is pea size compared to some of the other fellas on here, i’m sure they will chime in…
