just made my apt for fri he 24th. what the deal covers is the front grill trunk piece and the window trim. he said the mirrors are impossible to do with the double post deal we have on the rs4. he said he had a friend even try to take them off and take them apart and try it and it was an absolute nightmare. so the mirrors I guess ill have to paint.

1. is there a choice of matte or gloss?

2. is there going to be any seems? i.e. the back small windows on sedans…will they use one large piece to cover the whole window then trim it down to fit the trim…or will they use a flat narrow piece and work it around the bend, necessitating a seam?

3. any sample pics?

4. does it include the front grill?

5. does this include the little weird piece of aluminium on the RS4 trunk?

3. Ill put some together. I know a had a few audis that we did moldings on but can’t find any on our website.
4. Grill is extra. Reg pricing is $80
5. Piece on the back bumper was another $40

For window trim only, I was previously told each car is about two hours, which seems about right for labor plus materials. So for double the work or more, and extra materials, it is pretty unlikely that it is $230.

By the way, the discount for the group buy applies to the total job, not the just window trim. So all participants would receive 15% off everything if we hit five guys for the Nov22 date.

I hope its only 2 hours. my appt is at 2 and that’s the latest he would let me come because theyre open till 7 and he said it could take 4 or 5 hours.

I am pretty sure the two hours is just for the window trim, as I stated above.

Since you are getting more done, it will probably take longer, as he told you.

I would go by what he told you, since he’s the expert.

I don’t get the group buy…how are they going to do 10 or even 5 cars in one day?

I don’t know how many guys they have at their disposal. I am guessing they would bring people in as needed.

Five is doable with one bay for trim only. But, Andre said that he wanted to hold off on the scheduling part until he sees what people wanted, anticipating that they would want more than just the window trim.

One of the things he mentioned, and that I have verified through web research, is that the cars need to be warmed up to apply the wrap properly. The colder it is, the longer it takes to warm the car up. I am not sure if this is part of the scheduled time, or not. That could explain why they could potentially do more than five a day, with multiple bays and overlap.

But all this is speculation. You can call Andre directly at Restyleit if you want to clarify.

Or, we can wait to see BT’s job, and he can break it down for us.

Saki, I know you have been wanting this forever, so no problem if you skip the GB and go on your own. Up to you. Im OK either way. I just set it up for you guys in the first place, as I cant go until next year myself.
