superskint!

the more im on AZ the more bitter i get lol
the people responding in this thread so far seem to be on the same page lol http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/468884-Comparison-2013-Audi-RS-5-vs-2011-BMW-M3-vs-2011-Cadillac-CTS-V-(RS4-)

My post:

After that epic Supersprint fail when they tried to make headers+exhaust for the RS4, I feel the need to ask some questions…

-Did Supersprint test these first to prove they make power?
-Where’s the proof that these ultra expensive components will make power?
-Eurocode made a negligable amount of power with their headers…why are Supersprint’s better?

No dyno numbers, no PBOX, give us some 1/4 miles times.

Last but not least…

womp womp

Fick that is going to be some exspensive shit…

What is the diameter of the cat back, I wonder how much research went into this exhaust, I can tell your from the 3.0 it was very little.

not sure how important a crossover is on a sc 3.0 v6…maybe beem can chime in.

however the exhaust looks 2.25 or so. That right? Doesn’t seem right for a car capable of 400 to 425 hp with just a tune…and pushing 500 fbo+race gas

this reminds me of capristo rs4 stuff…lotsa flash but not much thought it seems

where’d you get the negligible power info from? i def disagree. they’re good for like 25-30 hp, is the price to get them and then into the car to high for the gains? yes but that wasn’t an issue to me lol they def do make power

I dont think V6s are going to be as sensitive to having a crossover since iirc (I did it out on EA some time back) with the firing order and firing angle of a split pin V6 you shouldnt see collector crowding to the same degree as a cross plane V8.

Its still an important sound deadening trick, honestly unless its a race car stupid loud exhausts get very tiring

I think eurocode realises that they have a part that is too expensive to make and too costly to install for modest gains (20-30 is what I remember) so they’re doing everything in their power to produce some amazing results that will sell them (all the dragstrip attempts that fall well short).

Of course that hasn’t worked so far, so it looks like they’ll probably just stop bothering trying to sell the headers and focus on fighting GIAC on the forums lol. Really though the part is one of those ‘if you can afford it, have at it’ type of things. I don’t think they’ll sell more than 10 sets of them though. Maybe I’m wrong as the B8 guys tend to buy anything put in front of them as a group lol.

Just read the post on AZ… I like how Eurocode is chiming in telling another vendor not to advertise/compare products that don’t exist yet… Didn’t they make a post about a shifter that is still in development and not for sale? I have no problem with Eurocode or some of these other vendors but they are hypocrites when they say things like that…

while i agree with your hypocrite comment about online vendors, at least the shifter is past a beta stage and a few cars running around have the parts installed. teaser threads are posted once development starts or is close to completion. i think that post was put up more for campionishops advertising cus a product doesnt exist even in a beta form, never a test fit or an in-house car. i think the post was premature, i had to harass them to answer my questions about fitment and install. and they’ve yet to update the misinformation in the AW post. now if supersprint themselves put up the post it would have been a different situation IMO.

disclaimer: not being a eurocode fanboy, i would respond and do respond to other vendors in the same way when misinformation clutters up an already extremely confused forum.

No need for a crossover on the 3.0? Learn something new everyday.

So what about equal length headers? Is that something that the design of the 3.0 becomes exempt to?

[quote=“B6JoeS4,post:12,topic:3094”]
virtually an impossible thing due to no room but yes equal length would be optimal. theres less room in the tunnel area(less room than b6/7 cars) because the transmission is monstrously huge in this car. its roughly the size of an A8 trans

these are the current headers that have been tested and built for this car(although one has some radical fitment issues, ill ignore that for a minute lol). they are both very different design but share one major similarity. where the header sweeps down over the trans. and thats because that area of the tunnel literally has not much more room then that.

I felt like Beem explained once that equal length wasn’t AS crucial on the 3.0 as it is on the V8. I don’t recall exactly why though. I think he also was mentioning that true long tubes would be good, but no where near the gains that the B8 saw. I think in part due to the firing order and flow of gases. I’m sure he can explain everything I’ve butchered.

the JHM S5 headers have a similarly less-than-convential design to work around that issue

as far as the crossover, it may help but I doubt as much as on a V8. I’ve never owned a V6 so I’m not sure, but judging from firing angle/order you probably wont see the back to back firing event that crowds the collector on X V8s

I’m not nearly as knowledgeable about the B8 setup, but I wouldn’t completely rule it out. People absolutely mocked the B6/7 at even attempting anything but stock manifolds as there wasn’t room. Also the S5 shows the same similar curve that you show there:

like i said, if they get them to fit ill buy them a coke lol

more facepalm… have at it v8 boys http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/469026-Inevitable-gt-4-2-in-the-RS4

Have you actually ever owned an RS4? LOL What a newb!
