I have been trying to figure this out for a while and not having much luck. So…I thought I’d start this thread to get things started. We’re looking to identify the fastest from the various platforms in street form…full weight and pump gas (i.e. 94, 93, 91 octane). Basically running the car is it would run on the street…as it would if you were to run into someone looking to do some pulls. Not like you’re going to pull off the highway to remove your seats, or drain your 93 octane to pour in a pail of race gas lol. So, let’s identify what the true street gap is
No race gas (must be 94 or under)
No alcohol
No touelene
No meth
Street Tires (No slicks although not usually an issue for Audis)
Full Interior
Full Exhaust on the car (i.e. not open dumps or DPs)
So, let’s figure it out! If you guys know of faster times than the ones posted, please let me know so that I can include them.
B5 S4/RS4 Long thought of as a quarter mile assassin in any form, the B5 S4/RS4 has certainly earned that reputation. Whether you look at the stripped out cars of Oz (race car), Guruman (no seats, no bumpers, no catback etc) or Marc (he even cut out unnecessary wires from the wiring harness to save weight and get down 900 lbs to 2700 lbs!) or if it's the full interior 11.1 time run by Jaybquick, there is a common theme among the fastest B5 guys - they're either on race gas, or are stripped out...or both.
11.645 @ 119.06 - Tommy Gun K04, piggies, straight pipe catback, FMIC, stage 3 clutch, SSP tune
(The next fastest time I found that ‘qualified’ was 11.934@117.91 so as we thought, there aren’t a ton of guys deep into the 11s in street trim.)
B7 RS4
With such a small number of cars on the road, let alone extensively modified ones, the results here should be (and are) a bit thinner. Still with that being said, we have 2 SC cars in the 11s (both on pump, one full weight), and 2 more cars who recently ran 12.2 ALL MOTOR. As that JHM SC gets bolted to a few cars, the RS4 could move to the front of the pack. We’ll have to wait and see.
11.87 @ 119.0 - rocketman TVS1320 supercharger kit + JHM tuning/exhaust/clutch
B8 S5
The real looker of this group, the B8 S5 has had little modifications developed, similar to the early days of the B6/7 S4. Fortunately some of the 4.2 FSI high revving engine (RS4/R8) modifications are applicable for the lower revving version found in the B8 S5. So far only one car has run at the dragstrip that we know of with the APR SC, and it’s the leader for the platform.
11.925 @ 116.89 - Keith Lucas at APR APR 4.2 FSI supercharger kit, APR catback exhaust, APR carbonio intake, DXD racing clutch
B6/7 S4
It seems like just a couple of years ago the B6/7 was labelled ‘never even going to get our of the 13s’, let alone challenging for a spot at the front of this all-platform list. That’s because it WAS just a couple of years ago. Jaybquick broke into the 12s in late 09, followed by cabracco, and a bunch of other cars, who have since pushed the B6/7 into the 11s. Interestingly all of the fastest B6/7 times are pump gas only, so it’s pretty easy to find cars that qualify.
11.964 @ 116.074 - jaybquick JHM Vortech supercharged B6 S4, full bolt ons, 91 octane
B8 S4
The B8 has probably more quarter mile times posted than the B6/7 S4 and RS4 combined…in 1 year vs. the 6-7 years the B6 cars have been out! B8 guys love the dragstrip, and that’s great for gathering data. Primetime got the ball rolling last year, and he has been followed to the strip by dozens of guys in stock, tuned and full bolt on form. Looks promising for the B8 going forward.
12.059 @ 114.81 - 81bear APR stage II 93 tune + pulley on Sunoco 94 octane and full bolt ons
