Fault code 01435 - Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201): Implausible Signal

Hi there,

I am trying to fix the dreaded beeping accompanied by the ABS, ESP and Parking brake lights being on. From previous topics, it looks like the most common culprit is the ABS module, which I sent out to be repaired. Now, I have put the repaired ABS module back in and I have communication with VCDS, but now I have the above code and the same lights are still on.

From browsing the Ross-Tech forum, it looks like this could still be an ABS module issue, the ABS pump itself, or some issues with the actual pressure within the ABS system.

Does anybody have any experience with this code? I think I will try to bleed the ABS system again, and see if I can do anything through basic settings in VCDS, but other than that, does it sound like a new ABS pump is needed?

Thanks in advance,

Spencer

With your ross tech cable. Log into the ABS system and make sure you can do an output test.

The brake pressure sensor should not have any issues if the ABS has issues. But in some cases ABS module is reporting back. I would try to find these abilities in ross tech and see if you can link back.

There is a chance that the code could have been left over from the ABS install and bleeding

Thank you very much! I will check the outputs tests and report back on the weekend.

yes the output tests let you know you can com with the module and then have it respond. If you can do that then the car can do that on request.

Also see if you clear that Break pressure code. See if it goes away and stays away BEFORE you run the tests.

Just getting to check this this weekend and it looks like I am unable to run an output test. It says “output requirements not met” or something around those lines. So it looks like I am not able to communicate with the abs system. Last weekend I only had the G201 code, but now I have these two in the attached scan below. I was able to run the abs pump when it was only the G201 code.

So my next step is I guess check the wiring to the ABS module? Here is a picture of the harness and I did notice one of the pieces seems to be a bit broken. How do you go about testing the harness? I feel like I need to check this before I go back to the company that repaired the ABS module and tell them they did not fix it correctly. Thanks in advance!

Do you have to re-code the ABS module after repairing it? Or only when you get a new unit? Or is it when you replace the pump?

Just a follow up if anyone is looking at this in the future. I ordered a used ABS pump off of ebay and swapped it in to see if the codes changed at all. The codes remained the same so it definitely seemed like the ABS module was not repaired properly. Sent it back to be repaired again, and so far the issues have been fixed. I did have to recalibrate the ESP and steering angle sensors to get the lights to completely go away. Happy to not have any more lights and beeping on the dash!
