Filled up with 87 octane today!

Well only a few gallons to test what my water/meth system is doing since i don’t have a 100oct tune to switch to. Tank was driven down to 0 on the cluster and about 3 miles after before fill-up, then 20 miles before the logging. (was surprised i got 317 miles off the last tank)

Stasis v2 tune.
50/50 Water/Meth
California 87 craptane.
60 F ambient temps.
Logs done form 2500 to 6500 3rd gear.

Direct link to the logs if you want to view its entirety.

First 4 logs are Meth OFF, Last 4 are Meth ON.

Let me know what the harsh critics think!

Not sure why also, but when i click the “UDS” box in vag, that is when my logs were corrupt, so these logs have a slower sampling.

Can’t comment on the performance, but thanks for using the app

Kris, I’m curious as to your analysis. Not to pick it apart, simply to better understand. first snap shot glance and my thoughts are knock control ftw! Pretty cool. Thanks for posting this.

OH MY GOD.

21 degrees of advance on 87 octane with only a little ignition pull?

No way in hell could the engine achieve that safely. Revo desensitizes the knock sensors on this platform, so dude, be careful.

great thread title

Interesting experiment too. This is a 91 octane tune, correct?

If so, you’re effectively getting a 40 cents per gallon beit from the meth, right (by not having to fill up with 91) and maybe getting a little more effective octane than 91, yes? What’s the cost of the meth kit?

Wonder what is more cost effective and performance effective

Stasis 91 with straight Cali 91 pisswater

vs

Stasis 91 with Cali 87 + your kit.

Factor in 75% of the cost of the kit including install if any, amortized over 3 years…then compare the cost of running a tank on 91 vs. 87+meth…then divide the cost of the meth kit by the number of tanks you go through in one year of driving to see the added per tank cost.

My money is on Cali 91 for money, and your kit for a bit of a performance bump (but not much). Not going to discuss danger…altogether a different story.

I agree…be careful. I’ve seen more timing pull running 91 gas on the 93 tune. In the winter.

What are your injection parameters, roughly…how much water/meth flow in proportion to boost, and what triggers it…?
