Finally made a video of my exhaust!

What up AR! This is my first thread and one of my first posts.

I finally got around to making a video of my exhaust, my current set up is an RS4 Magnaflow Catback and Milltek catless DP’s. Since I’m one of the very few with this setup I have gotten a bunch of requests for a video. So here it is! I hope you all like it!

Sounds great,

I need to go catless DP asap, I like loud! ;D

Mother of god.

;D

my catless Dp’s are on their way… can’t wait to see how my car will sound!

Mmmm catless non-res. Drool.

Holy hell that sounds great.

Thanks guys! Glad you like it.

Makes me miss my A6. Sounds great Bud! Tuned right?

Love it bud. I think your going to love it more if you already don’t have the JHM tune. You will notice that it changes the tone even more.

IF you don’t mind I copyed this for those that will end up asking.

TO clear up the question which many have been asking “will it fit?!?” I also installed my Milltek DP’s which I took off my old b6 s4. Soooo here’s my current mod list and future mod list as well as some pics and a write up on the Magnaflow catback.

PICS!

how last weekend began:

And now its time to run into some fitment issues. As you can see form the images below the Milltek DP’s and the MF CB didn’t want to mate up to well. I ended up having to cut an inch of tubing off the down pipes so that the catback would sit under the car right. As far as I know this is not something that needs to be done if you have stock DP’s, I’m assuming that the Milltek DP’s are slightly longer(?).

As you can see in this picture the DP closest to the camera has been cut and the the one further away hasn’t been.

I needed slightly longer bolts for the stock sleeve which connected the DP’s and the CB. The sleeve had to be expanded in order to connect the two. This was not a big issue, and it ended up sealing up quite nicely. Here’s an image of the bolts I bought to accommodate the expanded sleeve.
(stock on the right and new longer bolt on the left, 4 bolts are required)

So then we come to the biggest issue of the Magnaflow rs4 catback. Apparently the RS4 rear valance opening are a bit wider than the S4 openings. The tips were sitting approximately an inch too far outward when sitting in the hangers normally. So I improvised; all I needed was 6 hose clamps, three for each hanger. This pushed the mufflers inward and made the tip sit perfectly inside the valance openings. I do not think this put any stress on the catback in any way and frankly I think it worked out great!

^Way to improvise. Looks good.

good stuff

the milltek “2.5” downpipes…do they neck down to 2.25 for the last little bit or are my eyes tricking me?

If so, have an exhaust shop hack the neckdown off, weld in some 2.5 stainless, and they can then perfect the mate-up with the magnaflow

2.5" looks so big compared to stock. It’s nuts how fat it is.

Also, the stock catback is just terrible. It’s an exercise in protecting the B7 RS4 really. crimps, sharp bends, 2.125" piping…just an overall disaster. Anyone who says you won’t get gains from exhaust on our cars is silly.

Thanks for pasting that post over here Chris!

Saki- Both the Milltek Dp’s and the Magnaflow neck down. I should have gotten that taken care of before I did the install but I was just anxious to get it on! Next time I get some motivation I’ll have it done. Also I do not have a tune… Hopefully soon!

Bud thanks for posting this. I’ve read over the years people talking about having the RS4 exhaust but you have captured it in both picture and video.

As I’ve said to other members please feel free to take advantage of our photo and video storage. This way you don’t have to use space on any of your other outlets.

Thanks for your video and your involvement

good work documenting how you fit this in there
