Well after a lot of research, filtering through the BS on other forums over what supercharger is the best I have decided Ill be ordering a JHM blower kit over the winter. Im about 2k shy of doing it now and want to do a few other maintenance things before we get to that point. I have a few questions from those that have this kit. 1 has anyone gone and had any additional fine tuning done on a dyno after install? Or is it perfect out of the box? Do you have to do a ton of logging and send them back to JHM several times to get a perfect tune? Most importantly question number 2, how satisfying is it to drive after knowing how your car performed prior to the blower? Is it truly night and day? This is my daily, I do a 30 min commute that is mixed rural, highway and a little bit of stop and go city. I want reliability at the end of the day, and thats why Im sold on JHM
I have been part of several installs and helped maintain a few of the JHM supercharged beasts
The JHM is the number one supercharged kit by a long shot both in performance and performing over time not to mention kits sold. This kit started on the B6 S4 moved to the RS4 and has again proven its consistency on the S5. If you remember back several years when APR got hung up with there tuning they contacted JHM for calabration help. So you know the tune is safe and strong.
We have seen JHM supercharged cars in south africa and JHM supercharged cars in alaska so they have experience with extreem temps all over the world.
Ive personally driven several JHM supercharged S4s and RS4s and it is a nite and day difference. Not only is it the best bang for the buck power wise its a fantastic out of the box product where its not something you need to log and send logs back and forth. Its been tuned and tested and re tested and refined. Its got track times and plenty of seat time to back up the product.
The reason there is so much BS out there is that other kits just cant compete. So what you get is fake paid spokes people to bash JHM to try and help make up the difference between the available other kits… The good thing about AR is you only need to read a few pages back in this section to read about any JHM supercharger install. There is about one install every few pages and they all say the same thing.
That its fun fast safe and super well put together. And lots of these builds are DD cars that people are really using every day. So thats one more plus that the JHM kit is a very usable addition to any of the platforms its on.
Go for it, you won’t have any regrets. As mentioned, their is a lot of BS out there and as Justin mentioned, there are some people that seems to go out of there way to badmouth the JHM kit.
No need to do any logs and have that send back to them, when you are ready to flash the new tune the server will ensure you select the correct tune for your part of the world and you are ready to go.
The difference is night and day, it really do transform the car. It doesn’t compromise any of the original characteristics of the car it just enhance it.
Let me know if you have any other questions on the build, I have ton’s of photos from my build so if I can assist in anyway let me know.
Welcome to SC side😈
You can check out my stage 1 install thread as well. And the member Sar from the UK also has a great thread. Now that the stage 1 plus is available I would recommend going right to the stage 1 plus kit. They changed a couple things like the intake tubing is now aluminum. Plus the car needs that intercooler badly.
If you have any questions feel free to msg me.
