Finished the intake cleaning

Hey guys! So I slapped the intake on and all last night. Pain in the ass. Getting the manifold back in while bolting that harness bracket in the front was really hard. I never removed the radiator/front bumper… Anyway, I got it on. I only used one of the two bolts that hold the bracket in though. Meh. I’ve heard of people not putting them back in at all. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get those clips that hold the actuator arms on? Two are missing. The flap motor arm and the passenger side sensor arm. I can put the arms on, but they vibrate out after a little bit. I guess I knocked them off. If clips aren’t available, anyone have any suggestions? Right now I’m super happy though. The car has no codes now. At first I threw a P0660 code, but I was tired so I had forgotten to clip that passenger side sensor harness in, lol. But it’s all good to go now. I have a 2014 CLS550. This S6 idles smoother than that now. And the CLS only has 45k miles, so I know there is nothing wrong with the Benz. It’s smooth, but the Audi is smoother. I’m excited.

I still need to bleed the brakes. When I moved that brake fluid reservoir over, I guess I introduced air into the line. I’ll be doing that this week. Also, another question for you guys. I wish I knew how to post pics. But there is a skinny hard plastic black hose thing that runs between the radiator and the front of the motor. It’s broken. It looks like it melted on an ac line on the passenger side. When I tried to pic at it, it broke in another spot. So that’s how I figure it’s a hard plastic line and not a flexible type. Although, it may have been flexible once upon a time. It does seem to do anything with the engine. I tried to feel around and it seems to go to the passenger side area where the headlight washer is. But I could only feel so far. Anyone have an idea of what I’m talking about and what this line might be?

The Audi number for the retaining clip is 07L133556.

You may want to get an extra one as they are pretty small and tough to find if they fly off when you are trying to push them into the groove. In a pinch, I have wound very light gauge bare wire around the groove to keep the arms in place until I had the opportunity to install the oem clips.

For pix… click this link. Make sure you compress your picture down from huge mega pixles. It allows you to have your own folder for pix.

As for the knock sensors on the front of the intake. Its best to just remove the bracket and zip tie it to the hard lines under the intake.

As for the intake parts and brake parts it would be eaiser to see what your talking about in pix.

Thanks for that part number Eng92! Yea my luck, I’ll probably lose a couple trying to get it on so I’ll buy a dozen or so.

Hey Justin, there wasn’t a link in your post. Can you repost? Dang I should have zip tied those sensors. Well since I plan on keeping the car, no doubt I’ll have to do another carbon clean eventually. When I do, I will most def zip tie. It will save me a lot of time and scraped hands. But as soon as I can get pics in, I will. I have them on my phone. I hope you’ll be able to identify what it is once the pic is up.

I had the same problem this week end I ran to my local hardware store and pick a few up…literally $0.12 each.

TIP: It’s really tiny so to get the right size find a similar sized piece of metal and take with you or buy a range of sizes that you think will fit (they’re real cheap). Worst case scenario you can remove it from the Mani and take it with you.

Yea thanks for that. I went on to Amazon and saw a bunch of assorted small ones for like $3. It comes with like 100 of them or something. Hopefully I can find one in that bunch that will work.

Do I need to have a certain amount of posts in order to upload pics?

I will post a new thread for the line that was broken.

I’m not completely sure, maybe there is a size limit for the overall album size. I created an album here recently and it only allowed me to upload 2 pics.
