Well everyone. I finished up my carbon clean and JHM intake spacers on my 2008 Audi S6 with 70.5K miles. Was not as bad as I was thinking, but it is a LOT of work. It was good to get in there under the manifold to see how the engine is put together. I also changed all the spark plugs which wasn’t too bad.
The hardest part was tightening the fuel lines near the firewall as you have almost no room and you have to do it with the intake manifold in place.
I am pretty sure that I will need to get a new intake manifold; I am not surprised at all. While there were no broken bits floating around in the manifold, I could hear the flaps in the intake rattling when I rev the car to 2000 RPM’s.
I wish I would have thought of it and gotten the gaskets and o-ring for the oil filter housing as I think it also may be seeping. Oh well, I’ll do that when I do the new manifold.
