First post, greetings everyone

Its been some time since I’ve been in the VW/Audi community, last one was an 01 Jetta Wolfsberg edition which passed away in 2006. Been primarily a Toyota owner for a while, IS300, 2x 4Runners (Paragon1 on Toyota-4Runner.org), and finally an 18 M3 Competition, which I sold back in June. Just got word i’ll be moving back out west and will incur a hefty commute for a few years when i’m not deployed. Ive been eyeing RS5s for a loooong time, but was never able to find what I wanted, but it finally popped up in AZ, 2015 Suzuka Grey, only had 11.5K on the clock. Had to pull the trigger (but still added a warranty).

The other baby and its former stablemate.

I’m in to doing some mods, and i think the first will be an Antigravity battery, slight lowering, CarPlay, and probably winter tires (recommendations?). Wheels will come at some point late next year. Huge thanks to @Ape_Factory, aka RS5 Fanatic for the Youtube uploads, lots of solid direction on your channel. Will still be hanging on to the mighty 4Runner since I’ve probably put over $25K into the thing, including a supercharger. Worth every penny though, just a shame i cant get the RS supercharged too. Probably for the best though. Looking forward to the knowledge sharing.

Welcome to the RS5 B8(.5) group! I am running Dunlop winter tyres standard width. I would choose based on conditions; if you want to be able to run snowchains, that is the less wide tyres should also get you out of most situations especially with studs. You can get them off an S5 (same wheels). For mud and snow (leaves) I love the dunlops and run them more than the PS4s.

Take this piece of advice if nothing else: definitely get winter tyres if you plan on running the car past september/october. To my knowledge tyre width does not help in winter for traction.

It is not a Subaru but the quattro comes into its right in less perfect conditions vs a rear wheel BMW.

Obviously get serious mud and snow tyres.
