Haha bigshot.
My friend does that sometimes, and then bets on the main event to pay for it (or get double deep lol)

I ordered. Loner night at my apartment lol.

So what was it like?
All the fights were pretty good - besides the one where the guy weighed in 10 pounds heavy. That was more or less a boring match.
Silva/Diaz was exciting just given the circumstances. Diaz tried to distract Silva with some theatrics early on, but Silva wasn’t biting. It really came down to a very composed Silva landing a few more blows on Diaz that got him the unanimous decision. And there was no doubt he was the clear winner.
I’m not sure it leaves Silva fans reassured, though. Diaz is no Weidman, and there seems to have been a bit of ambivalence/hesitancy in Silva’s demeanor. He was very emotional after the win, so perhaps this is the victory he needed to gain confidence before matching up against the elite in the Middleweight Division. That is, if that is his goal. Said something about his family wanting him to be done for good.
Btw - his surgically repaired leg (shin?) looked strong. Was a non-issue throughout the fight.
It was nice to see him win. Well worth the $59.99.
One more thing. The first fight of the night. Some Canadian vs a really short Hispanic guy (sorry, can’t name-drop like beem). The Canadian was lighting it up and was pretty impressive. Til the second round . . .
That’s when he got kicked in the gut by the little guy and went down for the count. That was probably my favorite fight after Silva’s. Funny how one move like that can totally change the momentum of a match. It’s why I like this sport so much.
That Woodley vs Gastelum fight was disappointing to see coming from those fighters. What was also disappointing to me was Gastelum coming in near 10 pounds heavy; who does that? I can understand just missing weight, but these guys are professionals in an elite organization. It’s disrespect in my book.
I believe the fighter with the nice leg kick to the stomach was Alves. That was a good match to see.

Yeah that was Alves v Mein. Mein is very impressive, hope the miles from his youth don’t cap his career though. Brutal kick

Re missing weight, big shame lineker missed so bad (130 for a 125 bout). He’s a fun fighter and it’d be great to see what he could do against Demetrious Johnson.
was that a liver kick?
alves used to be awesome. What happened to him?

Liver is more on the other side, may have just kicked through to it lol. Alves had some injury trouble, think he blew out his knee
It was weird watching the Gastelum fight. He just looked so out shape. He absorbs hits to the face well, but that’s about all I could say for him that night. Otherwise he was slow and didn’t seem fit to be out there.

Well this is a shame . . .

[quote]Additionally, Aguilar informed ESPN.com that Diaz (26-10) tested positive for marijuana metabolites during a post-fight drug test. Aguilar said exact results were unavailable, but confirmed Diaz’s results were above the allowable limit of 150 ng/ML.

in honor of the Diaz being baked during a fight redux, here’s the original
^^ holy shit that was awesome!! So Diaz was toking up before that fight as well? Man he cuts easily, at least from what I’ve seen.
