Are you in a plane?
Hopefully no more issues like this, as I was looking forward to seeing his next fight.
[quote]Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva was rushed to a hospital Monday morning in Rio de Janeiro, following a training session at X-Gym.
The incident is not expected to jeopardize his return bout against Nick Diaz at UFC 183 on Jan. 31 in jeopardy.
Silva reportedly felt severe back pain while trying to stand up after a jiu-jitsu training session, according to Combate.com. He was rushed to a hospital after realizing he could no longer had feeling in his legs.
He was cleared and released from the hospital on Tuesday morning.
Dr. Marcio Tannure, the medical director of the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission, told Combate that Silva suffered from severe lower back pain.
“He felt a severe pain because of the contracture,” Dr. Tannure said. “It really hurts a lot, but it won’t change anything in terms of training. The issue he had explains the pain, but won’t get him sidelined or even cancel the bout.”
If he suffers no further setbacks, Silva will face Diaz in a five-round, middleweight headliner on Jan. 31 in Las Vegas.

Anyone else stoked for silva to come back? Sat Jan 31 2015! Should be a good fight, unless he snaps another leg.
I’m actually not stoked
We discussed it here, but before the leg break, he was pretty much on the downhill side of his career. Either he was doing his usual bullshit, where he dances and runs around and hams it up all night…or he was losing.
The first weidman fight he was completely dominated. He got caught showboating and got knocked out, but it didn’t matter. He was going to lose the fight either way.
Second fight with weidman was the same thing…Weidman dominated, and then silva broke his leg. Didn’t matter…he would have lost again anyway.
Before this it was Chael Sonnen who completely dominated him for 24 minutes before being a dummy and getting caught in a triangle that Silva telegraphed and somehow Sonnen missed it.
All around, I say he was a great champion, but greatness in this sport is fleeting. All of the greats burn brightly for a short period, and then flame out. Silva managed to do well for a long time, as did GSP, but there comes a time where you need to hang them up before you start embarrassing yourself. Think of how many of the greats now have mush for brains because of those last 5 fights of their career where they got knocked to shit 5 times in a row, and the lasting memory of them is tainted by visions of them losing over and over. Liddell, Shamrock, Couture, Wanderlei, Coleman, Rampage, Franklin, Hughes etc
I will definitely be ordering the Silva fight. Anything else good coming up in the meantime? I don’t follow as closely as some of the others on here.
UFC 181 will be worth ordering, Melendez’s fights are always exciting and Lawler Hendricks 2 is an awesome matchup. Browne vs Schaub should a better than avg HW fight, hope Browne crushes schaub.
The FS1 Boston card is gonna be a killer free card (basically Dublin round 2)
I’m not excited to see Silva still pushing for the title etc. I wanna see him fight Diaz, Bisping, GSP and then box RJJ and call it. Him vs the current MW top 5 isn’t appetizing. Maybe a fight against TRTitor but that’s not an option, he won’t fight machida or jacare, Romero would probably just flatten him and rockhold would dominate like Weidman did. And the super fight against Jones would be sad.
Word. I’ll mark 181 down on the calendar.
