To be honest, I priced my car based on what other’s with similar mileage are selling for in Canada. Understanding that my car is a U.S. model, I still feel there is some value there. Despite the mileage, year and no warranty the car is well cared for and a unique colour that suprisingly, some will pay a little more to have.
That said, I am also willing to entertain reasonable offers.
Yeah I see what you mean. What they’re listed for may not represent what they’re selling for. Asking too much scares lots of buyers away who don’t want to insult you or feel you will tell them to fuck off.
For perspective in September 2011 I bought:
2008 rs4
From an Audi dealer (near Toronto)
5 years factory warranty left
Cpo 2 years on top of that
One owner
Local car
Avus silver
47,000 kms
Free new car audicare
Free used car Audi care after that (all service covered to like 115,000 kms)
I paid what exactly what you are asking.
Where are you located? If you’re in Alberta prices are 8-10% more than Toronto prices.
Saki, I think you got a super kick ass deal, especially since it is a CDN car. Using your purchase as a reference may be a tough comparison. Private sale as well, no GST.
private sale is worse. You have to pay full hst don’t you? I was able to offset hst with my trade in.
Also I don’t know that it was too kick ass of a deal that I got. Pretty normal. I looked all over the us at the same time and nearly bought a couple of cars there for very similar prices after all the import fees. For example the rs4per guy Avus 08, who is selling AMD kits… I literally was one day from buying that car but my transporter rejected it because it was in buttfuck Montana and they had nothing going through there.
Anyway I realise you guys have a thing for Ibis White being uber valuable. I’m not so sure a real difference maker. Maybe a grand or so. Ibis is available on the new rs4 and nobody buys it. White was available on the b6/7 s4 and nobody bought it. It’s a bit like imola. Looks great, but not many people want to live with it. My opinion only, but sales numbers don’t lie. For the record before you call me an ibis white hater, don’t forget what my other car is.
Case in point: everyone creams for that black purple car Retsuju has however his is for sale for less money than the ibis car here… And is not moving at all.
2008
Ti package
Audi exclusive exterior
Audi exclusive interior
Premium package
96,000 kms
Cpo till 120,000 kms
Canadian car with two owners (him and an Audi executive)
Asking $46,900. For sale for a month.
Ebay auction got $32,000 (I was high bidder) and reserve not met.
[quote] I think you should drop the price but sell your mods
1 sell winters for $700-900 depending on the wheels and tire condition
2 sell Milltek for $950 + exchange for stock catback
That way you get a couple grand out of the car and make it look stock and boring (that’s what the market wants)
In fact what winters are they? Mine are shot!

I was contemplating doing this, putting back to stock, I have the OEM exhaust still, and dropping my price a few K more.
This is a second option for me. I will give it the w/e and decide whether or not to go that route.
Winter rims are Hartmann RS6 replica’s with Dunlop tires. Prob have about 1 or 2 winters left in them.
Yeah dude. If you sell the car with the winters you are giving them away.
If you sell the car with the milltek you are giving that away too… But are also warding off buyers who don’t want a modified car.
Most buyers of fifty thousand dollars cars won’t modify them… And they view modded cars as the domain of dummy ricers and fast and furious street racers. They view the car as diseased.
Suspension might be a nightmare to remove since you probably don’t have drc still around. But you might get $1000 for used suspension if you can find someone to donate their drc. Would cover the cost of any parts removal/reinstall, and would create a more sellable option.
This is what I found when selling my previous cars.
Don’t believe they are a forum member from what I gathered.
In the coming days I will be posting up a FS thread that will include a valved Milltek cat-back, 18" Hartmann RS6 replica’s with Dunlop winter tires and full set of black Weather Tech winter mats.
