After pulling all 10 of my injectors with problems on only 2 of them how does one get these cages out? They are stuck in the bore pretty damn tight. I am trying to clean the dirt and grime away without it falling down but even that doesn’t seem to be making any difference. Am I just not yanking them hard enough?
They might be seized pretty well up in there. Try to rip it out with with two plier sets. If you are buying new seals, which you should, than these come with the seals already. I’d consider blocking off the hole in which injector slides in to prevent from something falling into the cylinder.
Thanks for the reply they are indeed seized in there pretty tight. I pulled out one of them so far and used my vice grip slide hammer to do it. But being that I wasn’t putting equal pressure on both sides I got scared that I scored the living hell out of the inside of the port. I still can’t tell if it’s just hardened dirt and grim or what but I’m working on cleaning them out while not letting debris fall in.
I’m assuming you used the shop vac to clean up the debris, and PB Blaster to loosen.
I’ve used the shop vac in these situations, keep the end next to the port area, this will pick up the small debris. Block ports, hit it with a little PB Blaster, let sit, then try to work them out. The two-plier method sounds good
