FYI: New Redesigned Intake Manifolds are shipping from JHM (Mine just arrived)

Apparently the new intake manifolds have shipped out from Audi corporate. I just received a package from JHM with the intake manifold and the stickers I bought.

Whatd the part number for the re-designed manifold if you don’t mind me asking?

Same as the old one…

Or at least that’s what’s on my packing slip. Manifold is still in the wrapper. No install till Monday.

Any chance these manifolds cure the broken intake flapper problem? Or do they just offer it in “rose gold” now?

BTW, wasn’t that the issue with the GM/Chevy Bolt(?) ignition switch recall? They redesigned the switch without changing the part number so they can’t tell which car had which version and they had to recall all on them?

Yeah, not sure if the part number is different now since I haven’t unwrapped the manifold completely. Will probably wait until Monday or Tuesday when it’s to be installed. Will also have intake spacer kit put back on. Hopefully the piano black dash, rs6 pedals, and OEM CF grill I ordered will also be here by then.

If you can take a picture of the part numbers. CV points out what the part number is and where it can be found in his build thread. It would be interesting to know if they changed the part numbers

There is a good chance that the part numbers will be the same. a part number change would usually indicate that they changed something in the design of the part. Usually they are not required to change part numbers if they just used a different material that didnt require an engeenering change.

I’ll see about taking pics when i have it installed since i havent unwrapped it yet. Too scared lol. If not, then I’ll see if I can get the answer for you from JHM since I got mine theough them

out of curiousity, did it come ready to bolt on with all the sensors and actuators, or do you have to swap those over?

It came ready to rock as far as I know… It only cost me ~2.5 hours in labor so i’m pretty sure it was all just the one big piece with everything inside.

If you can have them snap a picture of the part number before they install it. its on the top side of the intake by where the fire wall would be but its on the under side.

If its helps. I have never heard of anyone getting a replacement intake that is not 100% drop in ready. It comes with all the motors arms and sensors.

Yeah I missed that opportunity due to the timing of when the install was done. He kinda went out of his way to fit me in last minute. Next time in, getting the grill installed and hopefully the dash and pedals if they ever show up lol.

I’m already starting to strategize on how to pull out that dash bezel; silver really was a shit color choice for such a large square area. I’m probably not going to paint it but just cover it in high gloss black vinyl.

Thanks for the info on the intake! Given how pricey the individual actuators and position sensors are, I’ll likely just buy a new intake if another one poops the bed.

Yeah I found the piano black RS6 dash I got on ebay.de but it’s taking forever to get here. been like 5-6 weeks already lol… ah well… will be happy if it shows up at all.

5 or 6 weeks. WOW… The biggest let down on the S6 is the dash. So It will be nice to see the transition when you guys change it over.

Yeah, seems that it’s US customs causing such a headache…

Man that sucks. Its been hit or miss for me. Sometimes i will get my euro packages right away and other times it seems like customs wants to see if the parts I ordered fit on there cars before they release them to me.

any update? pics?? ???
