G62 Temp Sensor

Keep on getting the following code and it looks like the G62 sensor is giving up the ghost. Sensor is located at the rear of the engine near the gearbox bell housing. Before I attempt the job and to save my knuckles, sanity etc does anyone have any tips/ideas of how to make the job a little less of a PIA?

Thanks in advance

Check and see if Jimmy did a right up on this. I know he did a ton of good right ups. One of those might give you a better idea on what your looking at. All his right ups should be in the tech section on this site.

For me a quick trip. If your going from the top pull the intake manifold off. It’s a little extra work but helps give you lots of extra work room.

I checked the tech section and there is nothing.

Removing the intake manifold makes sense considering its size. But it is the piping behind it that may be the problem.

I haven’t added anything since the end of last year. Really need to get to work on that. Also CountVohn specifically asked for a DIY on the coolant temp sensor so I will try to get that up soon.

Never thought of removing the intake manifold to replace the coolant temp sensor but that you give a lot more room to get a second hand on the sensor.

Jimmy you have some great DIY right ups. Thanks for those. For some reason I thought I read you posted one.
