The suspension debate is always interesting, it’s similar to the tune debate. Usually guys don’t want to discuss facts. They just want to say their suspension is the BESTest.

For example: if someone mentions suspension on AZ, everyone comes in with Stasis MS are the best because roadracesuperstar. They don’t tell you how often they need rebuilt or serviced, none of the important negatives are ever mentioned. If you mention them…your a hater and a drag racer who doesn’t knoow what a great suspension feels like…it’s coimical.

98% of us don’t want to rebuild our suspension every 10k miles or less. 98% won’t track our car more than once a year if ever. For that reason DRC is fine with a set of lowering springs. The bag setups and wheel choices are just starting to ruin the platform IMHO…and that is all it is, my opinion. Take RSfazz for example, his fucking car looks hideous with his wheel choice.

you just said your happy with your kit! why are you buying light bars and stuff. this discussion was not about you. it was about the HUGE hole in the firewall from the MS system (have you seen the hole ITS HUGEEEEEEEEEE) and how that ruins an RS4 but somehow the modifications needed for any other mod, (JHM supercharger WAS USED AS AN EXAMPLE only 65vette understood that) does not ruin the RS4.

also i might have not made myself clear or you just group me with FT because im his friend, that i posted on QW a lot (zmoron), but i don’t pick my friends by what wheels and mods they put on their cars. but i have nothing against the JHM supercharger. i don’t have any, but definitely want one and will have one in the next couple of years. it will be between JHM and APR. I also think when JHM is finished i may be able to get a sc’d car and a fully built motor for the cost of just the APR charger… said all that to say that im not against the JHM charger, it just troubles me when you can bitch about a hole in the firewall and not bitch the same way about removing a foglight or whatever other mods require slight car modification, thats all…

That red rs4 looks quite simply fucking stupid. I also agree there is a difference in jhm blowing motors and apr. Have apr fixed any of the broken cars they didn’t own? Jhm owned there’s I believe so fair play for years of testing and breaking. Lastly I run ohlins on my b5 I think it’s the best out there but is a pain in the arse having it taken off and rebuilt. Last time was 700 gbp for the refurb plus time to remove and re fit it’s not cheap. It’s also not something I’ll do yearly as the car will do minimal miles

Yeah saw that. Not sure what he paid for it originally but he will be be lucky to get $2000 for it used, after probably paying $4,000. Add the $1200 rebuild coat, and that’s an expensive suspension that he only had for 3000 miles.

With that being said he’s terrible at weighing financial decisions with his car so none of it surprises me or makes me feel sorry for him. He is now buying the $7,000 ttx setup…

This is the guy who bought milltek fullback… Then sold out and bought jhm fullback… Then sold out and bought milltek fullback… Then sold it and bought jhm fullback. That’s about $15 grand in exhaust purchases and he sold the used systems for around $4,000…so he spent $11,000 to have jhm exhaust. He does everything 2 or 3 times. Supercharger, suspension, brakes, exhaust…and I am sure he is not done.

You guys probably saw Krypto is pulling his Stasis MS. Ridiculous. A suspension that is only good for x amount of miles/km and requires a rebuild is just robbery. Imagine owning that suspension here in Canada? It would probably be a “fixed” suspension after one winter from rust. “But it is sooo amazing, much better than stock” just doesn’t cut it. There is a balance between something great and the complications from going with it. Kinda like doing crack. Probably “sooo amazing”, but not worth it in the long run, just ask Mr. Ford.

all you guys talking about rebuilds are not running the stasis ohlin suspension… so how do you know? i may be neglecting mine but i have not rebuilt since install… picked them up used had them rebuilt and then have been running them for 45K miles. are you going to call me a dumbass now because i dont throw money at something because a bogus warranty tells me i have to yearly…? if the shock are not leaking or compromised why do i have to rebuild? am i the anomaly, doubt it. rebuilds ARE THE USERS CHOICE!!!

Tend to agree but if it’s not on a daily and you can afford to rebuild it, then I personally think it’s the suspension of choice. From personal experience it’s absolutely superb

1 your crew (you, Bensti , rotten apple, baddriverrs4, larry g) kept popping in to attack the JHM supercharger kit saying “you have to cut into and weaken the chassis for that kit”. Why? FT does it because he signed a contract with Apr. You guys do it because you follow him blindly.

2 the absurdity of that is that you only actually have to cut out a couple of dime sized pieces of superfluous overhang metal. It’s literally nothing.

3 when you retards persisted with this JHM attack to sell Apr, and ignored the facts, people showed your hypocrisy on the matter because you all have stasis… And you all have cut out part of your firewall in order to route your suspension reservoir lines, just so you can be hella low and run shit lap times at VIR once a year

Both modifications are equally minor and to be honest nobody on either side of the argument gives a fuck about either adjustment. You guys made the jhm cut into something much bigger than it was to try to help your friend sell more superchargers (sponsorship I think you mentioned). We mentioned the firewall cut in the stasis cars to show your hypocrisy. That’s it.

Now you’re showing further hypocrisy saying the jhm kit is too unstock looking? This is the group with slammed cars, after market wheels, and who promote the Apr kit with its shiny heat exchanger and after market manifold???

Rebuilding a suspension that often would be too much for me. I have a hard enough time swapping winter and summer wheels.

I’ve been in other Audi cars with suspension and I just don’t think it’s a must. I’ve had suspension upgrades done and sure some cars need more suspension help than others. Personally when people say it’s a must or its more comfortable it’s so subjective.
People that argue like that are trying to justify their money being spent.

Interesting comment about the sound of the jhm exhaust. I believe I have exhaust #1 or #2 (bought Dan’s old one) and between my exhaust (hand made jhm catted/resonated exhaust made by jhm) and mistro’s car (hand made jhm catted resonated exhaust made for jhm by fast intentions) , we found it virtually indistinguishable. I will see if I can find a vid .

As is my case. I don’t mind doing this “maintenance” to the car, gives me something to wrench on. Although paying someone to install the MS system is one thing, trying to tackle the res routing by yourself is more than I bargain for. That I consider “too much” work when there are superior/simpler suspensions out there now (PSi).
