local qually is $150 to enter or something, and you have to be a 1.4 index or better I believe. Pretty common for people to lie and enter off a 6 and shoot 84.
I went to the local USGA Mid-Am qualifier last year b/c the tournament was in Birmingham and thought it’d be really cool to go to. The club was fairly local and I thought if I shot really well I’d have a chance to be in a playoff or something. I bogied the last hole to shoo +1 and was bummed cause figured I need to be around 2 or 3 under.
I got in and it turns out 6 under was the cut with the medalist at 9 under (only 4 guys taken). I felt a lot better knowing I didn’t miss it by one or two shots, but was shocked how low the guys went even for a Mid-Am qualifier. And this was at a relatively difficult course, or at least one that you could easily get into trouble on many holes.

PGA is being moved as to not fall during the Olympics. And I guess we should expect an extra-shit field for the Canadian open, due to being sandwiched between two majors and all.
^^ ya that’s quite compressed. Usually there’s a month in between The Open Championship and the PGA.
Never know about the field for the Canadian Open. You could use that same argument in reverse and have a bunch of top guys play it to get ready for the PGA.
tough to say…lots of guys like to play the week before a major. Also, this year it’s Open, CDN, Bridgestone, PGA…and we will still have a great field.
also, RBC is paying half the bloody tour, and their contracts require them to play in the RBC CDN OPEN and RBC HERITAGE AT HARBOURTOWN 3 out of 4 years or something. So there will definitely be some big names. Not sure where the tournament is…Coppinwood? That’s a great course that Fazio designed. So it might do well. We will see.
