Goodbye everyone

Well, it was a sad day today, as I traded in my beloved S6.

It has been a great time owning her, through the ups and downs.

But, since this forum is A6/S6 All, and I no longer have an S6, my place must be elsewhere… so long fellas, it’s been surreal… :’(

Actually, do you think the mods might change the forum name to include RS6??? 8) 8) 8)

Please meet my new girl- and I hope you might keep me around yet ;D

Just got home and man is this thing sweet! Hard as nails compared to the S6, but that’s what I like. And oh, the power ;D

Being from NA, I’m extremely jealous. Congratulations on the upgrade!

Do you know by chance what the immediate “cosmetic” (nonmechanical) differences between the two cars (S6/RS6 C6) are? Thus far I’ve noticed different headlights and anything with ‘RS6’ as opposed to ‘S6’ (steering wheel, brakes, gear knob, etc). Really curious to know if there’s actually any differences between the bumpers (including grill)!

Thanks  I’m from NA too, just happen to now live in a more automotively-enlightened part of the world.

Cosmetic differences are pretty much all the body panels, except the bonnet and the roof.

The front bar is unique, but the grilles are interchangeable.

The front guards are another 20mm over the S6 I think. Same with the rears, which extend into the rear doors.

The car has wider sideskirts.

The rear bar has a diffuser.

The bootlid and rear 1/4s have a larger ‘lip’ spoiler.

I did check the part numbers for suspension arms & etc, they seem mostly the same.

Another strange difference is the tyre size is one step larger: 275/35R20

Super jealous!!! Congrats. I always dream of somehow importing one of these from Mexico into Texas! Pricing was still pretty insane. Did you get a decent price?

Congrats - that’s what I’d own if I could get one here in the US.

Enjoy!

Gorgeous! More pics, please!

Paul it sucks seeing one of the helpful guys jump ship but thats a great ship to jump to. Please post as much as you feel comfortable about the car on this site.

I would think everyone here would love to have a Audi V10 me included getting the V10 with the extra turbos just is awesome.

I would love to see more and see all of what the car offers. Also what I think would be interesting is to see how much if any carbon the TT v10 has.

Definitely in for a comprehensive comparison initially during the honey moon stage, and then maybe 3 or 4 months :). Out of curiosity how much more was the rs6 vs. Your s6?

That would be great. Also change the name from goodbuy to helllo. Dont leave things just got more interesting

looks great but we need MOAR pictures asap. I too am jealous that NA doesn’t get anything good.

Haha, sorry - yes, that’s a shameless troll title.

There are a lot of things the same between the two cars, so there’s still no better place to be than in this forum.

Initial notes-

Take-off from a dead stop is if anything, a bit weaker than the S6. Definitely a lot less torque before the turbos. But you’d expect that.

The S6 is silky smooth in everything it does. But when this thing gets going it sounds like a rock grinder. You know on mine sites where they smash up the big rocks into little rocks? Like that. At idle it hums and vibrates.

The turbo lag isn’t that bad, and you notice the lack of power at low rpms - but it comes on very smooth, no big turbo hit.

The exhaust note is probably a little quieter than the S6 (when you’re on it).

It has the dynamic suspension, which is pretty terrible in sport mode - feels like pretty much all springs. Dynamic mode is good, haven’t really tried comfort mode.

The gearbox is the same model, but this one is much better at downshifting. I wouldn’t say the up shifts are sharper, but keep in mind I did the zip kit on my S6.

It has soft-close doors. That is, you can just lightly shut the door (so it looks ajar) and it will pull it the rest of the way closed.

I’ll get some more photos up once I’ve got the wheels on it with some new PSSs!

About the price - it won’t make any sense to any of you North Americans, but I can say the price was LESS than I paid for my S6 three years ago. My S6 was a 2007, this is a 2010. And, about 30K less than market value  A great deal.

Jesus, $30K less than current market value or MSRP? Hopefully I read that wrong because you got an INCREDIBLE deal if that’s the case. Damn. I might just go move towards your area if they’ve got those prices! :stuck_out_tongue:

That is 30K under current used car market value in Australia - well, to be fair lets call it 20K. I based 30K on what my insurance company said, but if you compare actual prices it’s about 20K. Car values here are typically at least double that in the USA.

MSRP here was just shy of 300K  Didn’t pay anywhere near that.

Forgot to ask, how many miles.

I wouldn’t mind this beauty http://www.carpoint.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?Cr=2&R=27744594&trecs=11&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_Price_Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&__sid=152D637C3478&__Nne=15&__Qpb=1&seot=1&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294966970%204294967194&silo=1011

Link may have pasted broken…also, any plans to mod. These cars are fairly impressive with just a tune especially on the highway as I am sure you know!

Wow, no kidding! Beautiful car!

Link worked for me - yes, pretty much the same car.

Mine has 82,000km (about 50K miles).

And yep, there’s a tuning company I work with here, and we reckon about 720hp with just software

Then there is the TTE850+ kit… 850 means 850+ hp

Gotta save up about 10K for that though… distant future!

Congrats! That’s an awesome pick up

Cool car. When I was in Switzerland in 2012, that’s the one car I really felt we were missing out on. Saw tons of B5 RS4s and a few other cars we don’t get but when ever I saw an RS6 it made me mad that America has its own annoying crash testing rather than what the test of the world uses

I live in Canada and we piggyback on American crash standards. So we only get the cars America gets.

The plus side is that in 6-7 years we can import those I believe. So take care of yours then give us a ring!
