…and immediately did some road testing lol. Our B8 A4 2.0T is having a pretty big engine job done. All new internals, seals. Warranty thank goodness.
Anyway, they gave us a C6 A6 refresh 3.0T S-Line to drive for a few days while the B8 Avant is worked on. Compared to my daily driver, a B7 RS4, the A6 feels giant with a soft tip transmission and soft suspension, but the engine REALLY works. This was done on a flat road, with a full tank of 91, car was full weight with spare etc… I weigh 240lbs, so the deck was really stacked against the A6. I launched by just holding the brake, getting the revs up to just before the car moved, and then went full rocket.
I let off after the 1000 foot mark so the 1320 foot time (1/4 mile) should be disregarded. The 330 foot time would indicate a quarter mile time in the 13.8 range. Solid for such a heavy car. That’s basically stock B6 S4 tiptronic performance…a car that had a 340 hp V8 and weighed about 200 lbs less.
