I got bored on Saturday, and curiosity forced me to place my iphone on my intake and hood insulation to see if my intake flap was truly working. Just want to make sure I’m working good at high rpm’s ;D Looks good to me.
funny shit. that’s loud and crazy.
what’d you do to embed the movie with a thumbnail like that?
Good way to find out.
lol, I didn’t really know how to embed a video, so I just copied the BBC (bulletin board code) link in my thread and it came out like that. How do I actually embed the video into my message?
that’s as close as we can get I believe…(re embedding) but just wondering how you came up with this in particular?
Not sure what ‘copying the BB code’ means.
^it’s one of the two codes that are given when you upload a video to AR. The other code doesn’t do anything for this site though. Several people (including myself) have used this method. It’s the closest we can get to a true embedded video. Not great, but better than just a link.
I was waiting for the part of the video where the phone drops into the gap and films the carnage first hand haha.
haha, I actually had set my phone there, and to see that lever thing it has to barely be on the insulation, and so I got in my car and I could see my phone from the driver’s seat and I started by revving it slowly and then went to the LA limiter ~5500 rpm waiting for my phone to get eaten up and it didn’t. I was happy since I took a risk, then I went to watch the video and realized I hadn’t pressed the damn record button, lol.
Did it that 2nd time and it worked perfectly, luckily without falling!
I kept waiting to see the phone go falling down the crevice and owned by the flap actuator
That could have been an expensive test as others have said. A less risky and just as accurate testing method can be done with a vag cable. While the car still has vacuum you can test things like the I/M actuator arm, the exhaust valves etc. I’ll dig up the DIY and place it here later when I get back.
that would be awesome, I have a vag com cable so let me know if you can find it, thanks
