Group Buy Opportunity: 95A durometer bushings for Apikol rear differential mount

I’ve spoken with Doug at Apikol and he agreed to do a small production run of 50 bushing pairs in 95A durometer if I get at least 10 people together to pay in advance.

Apikol’s blue bushings are 55A durometer and the reds are 70A. In my experience, the red bushings still give a fair amount of deflection under load. Comparatively, 95A durometer bushings will result in nearly zero deflection under load. This is ideal for people who want to track their car somewhat frequently. I’m not sure if a bushing this hard will add any NVH, but that’s always a possibility.

The price will be the same as their normal replacement bushings, which is $36 + shipping. I think shipping will end up being $6 and change with USPS for each buyer. Apikol wants me to handle the payments and distribution among the initial group. I’m trying to keep this off of audizine if possible so it would be nice if I can get 10 people together here.

These bushings are specific to the Apikol rear diff mount, but will work with either the old style cast aluminum mount or the new style billet aluminum mount.

If you’re interested, this is how this will work:

  1. We get a group of at least 10 people together
  2. The group sends me the money
  3. I send payment to Apikol and show the invoice here
  4. Production time will be 4-6 weeks
  5. Once I receive the bushings I will distribute them among the group

Just reply here if you want in on this.

So far the participants in the group buy are:

  1. komseh
  2. JimmyBones paid
  3. iduff paid
  4. aroderick56 paid
  5. Mr. Wrong paid
  6. Mr. Wrong paid

Would this come as a separate bushing that would then need to be pressed into the factory mount? Or do we need to already own the Apikol mount?

These bushings are specific to the Apikol mount.

Count me in

Guessing these are just the inserts, as the entire mount, as a pair, is $239. http://www.apikol.com/index.php/products/audi/rs4-07-09/audi-rear-diff-mount-b6-b7.html

Any idea what’s needed to push out the old one and insert these? Guessing it’ll need an arbor press or similar?

Would anyone be able to tell me if these would fit my TIP car?

Put me down for three!

Iirc rear dif mount is not transmission specific, so yeah it would.

Yes this is just for a pair of 95A replacement bushings.

Replacing the bushings on these mounts is actually super easy and can be done by hand. For removal you will just push out the center aluminum sleeve then the bushings will be able to come out easily from each side of the mount.

For installation it’s the exact opposite of removal: Insert bushing on each side of the mount and press the aluminum center sleeve in. I recommend coating the inner and outer edges of the bushings with CV2 grease.

Hey bud missed you at QDM

Just to confirm, you want three pairs of the bushings?

Call Apikol to confirm, but i’m pretty sure their rear diff mount fits manual and tip S4.

I have an Apikol mount available for sale which needs bushings replaced. The Blues are shot, so I pulled the mount. If someone needs a mount, please PM me, I don’t need this one any longer.

I can’t PM you on tapatalk, but I’m in for the mount.

Yeah that makes two of us :frowning: I thought of coming for the second day, but no dice as starting point was four hours away.

That’s affirmative.

Awesome, we only need three more.

Count me in too!

If we don’t get two more people to start up initial production, let me know and I’ll take two more just to get this going. I’m surprised only a few people signed up…

I’m with Mr Wrong. You can sign me up for a second set, if that’s what it will take to push it over the top.

I’m in for a set if I can get alexl24K to get back to me on that mount.
