Has any one looked at R8 heads?

Crazy question like always. R8 heads cylinder heads anyone look to see is they fit our block?

I remember a thread from a while back talking about the R8 and/or RS6 intake as an alternate and the result was it wouldn’t work because the port spacing was different.

I don’t know if anyone’s actually looked at a head swap too. Since a head swap would most certainly require an intake swap as well, I have doubts all of that would fit under an S6 hood… Highly interested though!

The port spacing with the 5.2 R8 would be the same the RS6 is a 5.0 and not the same. I agree I don’t know if they would fit under a traditional hood but when has that ever stopped anyone. Hence the questions along with all the issues with our intake it seemed like maybe a whole top end swap might help if feasible.

I have a lot of crazy Ideas tho. Lol I like to pop up every once in a while and throw them out there.

According to the German parts site the cylinder head covers are interchangeable so if you want the black head covers You have that option available.

Well i know they use the same Headgasket, So I guess that answers my question if they will bolt on. lol but will there be any beits.

Just cause its what I do I am going to take this concept all the way. Here is my fantasy build

R8 top end swap. Hardened Head bolts

Lambo Billet Crank swap :o IKR ye I know its different than ours but R8 heads r8 cams shoud work just fine

JHM light weight everything lol

A set of those long tube headers that are about to drop anyday now right JHM? slightly modified to fit the r8 heads

last but not least supercharge the hell or of that beast cause its built like a freaking tank. I think JHM has that is the bag too tho. probably will need a intercooler and or water meth injection. and one hell of a good tune

Almost forgot RS6 transmission its built with hardened parts slightly better gearing

Lol, just use the money and buy an R8…or better yet a new S6

Ha Whats the fun in that?!? besides I like the potential and comparitively speaking its a bargan. The reason that Billet Crankshaft exists is apperantly the lambo crank becomes a weak point at higher power.

That’s an easy $30-35k, buuut it does sound like it’d be worth it if someone actually did it… Probably would be the best sounding sedan you can get, but would need at least 700hp to match the high hp cars coming out today. New Panamera Turbo e-Hybrid has 685hp apparently.

Yeah and a $110,000+ price tag with this build 1000+ HP would not be unreasonable.

All Lamborghini V10 5.2 and R8 are almost exactly the same other than a few badges and name plates so this goes for all Lambo heads too. So if you really wanted a Lambo engine in your car looks like you can build one, but it would be wet sump instead of dry.
