Header Theory: Confirmed.

[quote=“primetime,post:13,topic:4865”]

My bad, just meant from EC themselves… Actually I don’t know what I meant lol but you are correct I was half asleep typing from my phone.

About to right now lol

Again, it’s all good… I just want everyone to realize ALL of the data that is out there… Doesn’t take away from what you did just reenforces it further… Heck I’ll probably get walked by the header car this Sat. ;D

[quote=“primetime,post:23,topic:4865”]

Hahahahah so if you get walked that means all header cars can run 11.5’s all day ;D

Good info. Bummer that the results are so poor, but it’s certainly a confirmation of what was expected.

Man, that is a ridiculous DA that you tested them in as well! I had to double check to make sure you didn’t have a typo in there.

It was -2500 on Monday lololol

Props to Pete for testing, regardless. Hopefully stage 3 will yield better results.

yea i dont think ill install second time around, ill hold off till the blower comes out and rethink it then

richi’s Dyno results from 2012 would bear this out as well. Remember everyone was running around trying to blame program swtiching and coolant? Guess they forgot to look at the headers.

Nice!

I am curious now and wish I had my stock cats to throw on and make some passes!

Anybody have any stock cats that they care to offer up to science?

Yeah exactly, and honestly it’s def disappointing but I can’t say I wasn’t expecting it. I’m gonna log the car also and see how everything looks and torque as well as MAF.

post a link to the AZ thread when it’s up

To summarize,

Pete’s 60-130 - headers do nothing (headers results were worse actually)
Primetime vs Imola - headers do nothing (headers results were worse actually)
Various 1/4 mile times - headers do nothing (headers results were worse actually)
Various dynos - headers do nothing (headers results were worse actually)

you guys should sell your headers before the AZ thread lol

Pete, aren’t you on a beta file (stage 2) from GIAC?

The header improvement curve is inverted, stock to stage 3 are going to be the largest effectiveness.

no that dyno debacle had nothing to do with the headers, it was confirmed by several to be the coolant pump. that issue came back again once and after i replaced the pump the second time it went away again. when i dynoed i dynoed 20hp over apexit. so no that dyno does not reflect the headers at all

that’s what eurocode is hoping

it would make sense to say this if you were eurocode because clearly on the stage 1 or 2 cars the headers do nothing (and may hurt due to poor design). Their only hope is to say you will need this for stage 3. Funny, they said that about stage 2 as well.

Yeah but I still saw worse results than the HFC so I don’t think a finalized tune will make much of a difference.

Its hard to believe on a supercharged car, the headers could actually be a detriment due to poor design. On a NA car, it totally makes sense. But with the blower forcing air through, it’s damn impressive to have it straight up hurt performance.

lol

Well for whatever its worth, my old car holds the stock pulley record with headers.
