Help me find the source of this oil leak

Edit: Nvm, as long as the hose can make the length and you can properly clamp it, I don’t think it will hurt you unless the hose gets really pinched.

There appears to be oil coming down from above the oil housing area in the rear of the valley.

FCP Euro is a good place to shop, the WHT002789 is .99 there (but they are in CT).

If that’s the pipe that goes to the Water Pump, the O rings are [07L 103 121 N] and [WHT 000 881]. If not tell me where that pipe runs and I will let you know.

I have cut a line successfully before as a temporary solution. However if the hose is old enough to tear there it will probably let loose at some point.

SOLVED!

In the end, these are the changes that I believe were responsible for sealing the oil leak:

  • front crank seal, 079103051G
  • seal Ring, Engine Oil Level Sensor , 038103196
  • cam/VVT solenoid o-ring, WHT002789 #30 (4x)

  • Oil filter adapter gasket 079103121BE, #14
  • Oil Filter o-ring, N9095970, #25
  • Oil filter valley pan gasket, 079103161J

  • oil cooler o-rings (2x079103121AD) #2

water pump driveshaft seal, N90806302 #9
water pump driveshaft o-ring, N91008902 #10

I still have a slow (but persistent) leak around the top of the PS pressure hose, but I think I can just monitor and top-off the PS fluid monthly.

very well explained, i have the exact same oil leak. 2007 audi s8 5.2, bottom side of water pump, oil at coolant hose i see its swell up i replaced it, i think but not sure possibly the leak is coming from air con pump where it connects to drive gear shalf or power steering pump. Example if these where removed the must be an oil ring seal to connect them to engine to be driven by shalf
