Help: MMI 3G+ GPS MAP Location Wrong How to Reset Location?

This has happened to me already 3 times, and its very annoying… It eventually goes away by itself though I don’t know exactly how/when…
When it happens it usually shows the position icon (arrow) off the road I’m at then it goes completely haywire and the map keeps scrolling in the direction I’m heading but completely off the chart… when I stop at my destination it shows me stationary at a completely wrong location… I tried the MMI Reset (Menu+Knob+UpperRight) and the map reloads in the same (wrong) location…

Anyway of telling the GPS “I’m Here” and enter an address?
I remember the RSN-E having an equivalent option

Thanks!

I’ve heard of this before and I believe disconnecting the battery might help. Have you tried that? Also, there may be an engineering menu option to reset location but I can’t say I’ve spent anytime looking for it.

Ouch… Disconnecting the battery seems like a bit extreme. I was hoping for a softer approach! :-\

Pretty easy. Open your trunk and disconnect the negative lead for a few minutes. Reverse

Agreed, it’s not complicated… but I was hoping for something I could do by pushing some buttons

Thanks tho.

Try poking around the engineering menu and see if the GPS “reset” exists. Just be careful

First I’d need to gain access to said engineering menu! You wouldn’t happen to know how to access it?
Do I need to enable it via VAG-COM? or can it be done via key sequences?

Perhaps you could direct me to a resource for MMI TEch Info & Q&A…
I hate to keep bugging “just you”

Thanks for your help.
