Help with diagnosis

Saki, I have a borrowed shoulder mount for a camera sitting in my car. I’m worried it’ll weigh my car down at the drag strip (I’m serious) tonight (Cayuga at 7, btw).

I have sent APR many logs and they generally show that in colder conditions, at least, their timing can be way more aggressive. I have never received any love back from them though…neither compliments on how nice my logs look or a nicer custom tune :-(. This is obviously on our 94 gas. I was told they reached peak timing and any more advanced was losing power.

Seeing how fast the REVO cars run out of the box with some crazy timing advance, I beg to differ.

it’s too hot tonight and forecast says rain…otherwise I’d come. We’ll go another night when it’s colder out. I want to run my car bone stock again, but with 100 octane to see what happens just for fun.

A florida based RS4 (jnaut) ran with catless stock sized downpipes, stock catback, 100 octane, NO TUNE, LW flywheel, stage 3 clutch, LW front and rear rotors…and ran 12.26 @ 112.98. That’s pretty fucking fast.

That was at PBIR, on a pretty warm night. He has maybe $2000 in mods on the car when you consider LW rotors aren’t really a mod…you need to buy them sooner or later.

He must have had one hell of a holeshot. Well like you presented to us, the heat factor may be a little overrated!

Yeah just gonna see what happens in this weather, get some video and logs and have some fun. Unlikely ill do the road course with this car unless I have free time tomorrow, then I’ll take the NSX.

I’m getting a Strat intake delivered next week, so possibly I’ll go again. And also on order, H&R sports, the full adjustable sways and links, and adjustable upper arms so I can dial in some more beg camber. Then I’ll do more road course trips with the S4.

strat intake will ensure you get yourself a TD1 badge. Or are you already tagged? If I were you I’d try to stay as stealth as possible.

Here’s his run. Good to see the RS4s are getting our of the hands of the dyno lovers and into the hands of some guys who go to the strip. The car was out for 5 years and in the past 12 months we have had 3 all motor cars run 12.2, a couple of new stock records (12.81 for jnaut, then 12.75 for me) and an 11.4 @ 125 supercharged time.

Nice choice J! I think you’ll be very happy with the cars setup after the above list is installed! The only thing I’d change is adding an Alu Kruez and omitting the springs but that just me.

I’m hoping to have some work done at H2Sports mid July (picking up the APR’s CPS unit, removing the O2 spacers, and stepping up to the APR V2 tune) and would love to hit the strip on a relatively cool Wednesday night if anyone of ya’ll are interested?

Speaking of CPS unit based on the numbers I might just get the separator and Radiator and omit the pump all together… That is unless there is something I’m missing that should motivate me to get the entire kit?
