high performance oil

I think I’m going to switch up my oil. I had been using Redline 5W40. Now I have my eye on Motul 300v Power 5W40. It’s more of a motorsport oil that I’d have to change every 6 months, maybe every 5th track day. It runs about $110 for 6 quarts. I assume if I’m changing that frequently that I don’t need to change the filter each time.

Motul Is some really good stuff. Have you ever sent your oil out to black stone for inspection. That can really tell you more about your oil and your motor. It might be something to think about before you switch. That would give you some data on the red line and then the motul to see how one might be more able to protect you than the other. It will also let you know if the longer oil changes are ok or if your driving makes it something needed more frequent.

I think what I’m doing is not particularly good for the oil. I drive it really hard, then park it for 6 weeks. The parking for 6 weeks kills it. I probably should change before each event.

I use liquid moly in my cayenne

Used motul, mobile one, and I castrol in my s6. Motul and liquid moly is my favorite but yeah I mean good synthetic and just change often. Do an Analyisis and see want your car likes. People like royal purple and amsoil as well…

$36 for 2 quarts: http://www.amazon.com/Motul-Oil-300V-POWER-5W40/dp/B00CPYIXR6?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

Yeah ice used that variant it works well in subarus not sure about an s4 in sure it’s decent tho!

sounds like it might be a good idea to change it if thats how you use the car. Still for fun it might be interesting to send out a few oil samples to see if it is really killing your oil life

Interesting subject matter that made me look around as well- maybe you’ve already seen this but here it is anyway, don’t know it the product is good but check out the useful FAQ’s, seems like they invite questions too- might be crap but then it may be worth an ask.
good luck…

APR and a lot of their dealers like Eurocode endorse Motul 300V. But honestly every motorsports shop has some lubricant dealer. Mine has Redline.

I have been very happy with redline. It is a good brand. I dont use there motor oil but I use there transmissioin oils and othe drive train oils.
