Hit the strip again.. This time my car on pump..

who else is there?

If you think about it, break it down.

B8 S4s in North America…around what, 25,000? Since we know there are 8500 for the 2010-2011 models, that’s probably 25,000 overall.
B8 S4s with mods: probably 1500 or so in America. 20% of those on forums? So around 300?
B8 S4s with loads of mods: how many really have pulley+tune+intake+LW parts…the formula required to go 11s on pump. What…20?
B8 S4s with manual: Only about 30-40% of forum participants have the manual. So we’re down to around 6 or so well modified B8 S4s with manual trans.
B8 S4s who go to the dragstrip: there are tons relative to other platforms, but relative to the entire spectrum, it’s a fraction. Maybe 20% of forum members.

So now we’re down to around 1.2 well modified B8 S4s with manual transmissions who actually hit the strip. That’s Pete.

is that a GYM SELFIE? …fag

lol

i’m more concerned that an AR member has a britney spears avatar :-[

Pete - great job on breaking into the 11s on pump. Lots of 1/4 mile passes by everyone this year. I need to make it out soon.

Damn you put some thought into that post lol makes sense tho haha had to read a few times

I fit all of that criteria, except for LW parts and “going to the strip” as in “often”
Me with my 6 or so lifetime passes, all on that one occasion at Cayuga in November 2012, would probably not have enough experience to do a decent pass to get close to 12.0X

But I will give it a try and practice, get more runs in, just need to go!

who?

I do.

You’re a great example. You’re one of the rare rare cases…stage (2?)+intake+exhaust, manual, AND you’ve been to the strip (although you were stage 1 when you went so it almost doesn’t count). Even then, today you may not have the modlist to do it…and you still need the experience. Those 2 things are pretty key.

Pete has all the boxes ticked mod wise, and made probably 30-40 passes on pump in his 2 different B8 S4s over 2-3 years along with loads of other passes and seat time. His bounty? 1 pass in the 11s on pump…and it’s by 1/100th of a second. Shows that it’s not exactly easy.

You’re -6 karma and have 24 posts. Is that even a member?

I’m on here am I? lol

thanks for sharing great runs and information, you just decided on my new tune and setup once the car hits the dealer.

I’m just giving you shit, man. Nothing personal.

So were you running the B5 at the track? Perhaps you can start your own thread and post the results as well as the videos you referenced.

Lol no offense taken. Yeah I ran it. I might make a thread later when I get home. As for the videos I have a bunch I’ll have to trim them to get ask the boring stuff out.

I ran a B5 S4 (tune, exhaust, diverter valves, intercoolers) last week at the strip. He wasn’t doing too well. I think he was running in the 14 range most of the day. Clutch wasn’t co-operating. They’re so old it’s hard to even get to the strip while running, let alone to flog it and get a good result. They’re so finicky. One of the reasons the b5 guys are becoming dyno queens.

The best time I ran was 13.1 at 107.8. Full interior with about 3/4 of the tank at that time. Ran 13 times trying to beat it lol. I need to raise my launch rpm up. It was a fun time though

Sorry don’t mean to thread jack.

Since we only have 1 slip from that RS4, maybe you have some info/runs against him? (speaking to soeuro)

Wow. How’d your car get so slow? You went from running low 12s and losing those timeslips to running in the 13s @ 107?

this was from the last time you posted here…

To run a K03 B5 S4 into the 12s even you need about 110 mph. To run mid 12s you need about 112 MPH. To run low 12s you need to be in the 113+ mph range.

Since we know trap speed won’t vary dramatically, how did you go from running low 12s (113+ MPH) to trapping 107 mph? 107 is miles from a car that runs low 12s.
