Hit the strip today...

yes IIRC you did shift on that run richi… didnt have to though. little secret…even version 1 software if you just rode out to redline and then hit limiter- you would hit 130 every time  I did a few times and tested myself.

that being said… an extra shift is 0.2-0.3 seconds for most of us… 0.5 seconds max if you take your time…

whens the next time you’re going to mexico? im down to come out there

that dude is also talking about his buddy with a 2+ b8 s4 with a 100 shot, but it sounds like there is no proof

anytime… just text me… wed looks like nice cool night.

That car is for real. Remember those intake spacers?

Yeah, I think it is real also… It is not tuned for it though so will see how long it lasts… Also, just sent you an email… Hoping to get your thoughts on something… Let me know please… Thanks Ron

good to hear someone gave it a shot, wonder if we’ll see anything from it

edit, didnt see that you had posted about it in that thread, thread skimming failure

edit again, just saw this:

Would love to see more details on that setup for sure!

I am wondering if you only really ran it for trips to the strip if it would be safe without tuning for it?

Dailying it isn’t really on the top-of-mind but it could definitely be interesting. Could spray WM on a more regular basis and/or switch to Nitrous for strip?

I like how his goal is 800 chp (around 700 whp) when nobody knows what the internals can handle, power/torque wise.

The only level of a particular metric that we know that will grenade the engine internals with any certainty is timing…thanks to REVO.

I’m with ya - I just wanted to share the thread here for discussion. Emotional and financial ties to a product make it hard for some to be unbiased. I was just perusing az and remembered your comments from here regarding headers. Carry on lol.

since I can’t be bothered to deal with the likely impending B8 S4 crybabies piling on over on Audiworld, I thought I’d address this here on this version of the thread.

Primetime got into it with someone who is anti-APR and pro-REVO and made this comment:
As far as Revo “figuring out a way to to time these events strategically and make more power”, they are simply running more timing than anyone and disabling the safeguards such as timing retard and requested boost, but since you are an expert you probably already know that? Also, if they have all of these secrets figured out how come their tuned cars run slower than my car?

I responded with the following:

1. no REVO car has had as many mods on their car as your car
2. no REVO car has run pure race gas for an extended phase the way your car has
3. no REVO car has run at the strip by a driver with as much experience as you
4. your dragstrip is 1.3% downhill…that helps time A LOT as tsivas will surely attest (after comparing some flat runs to downhill runs)

Those are 4 pretty big reasons.

After some discussion on the effect of that 1.3% downhill slope at primetime’s track (he thought it wasn’t a big deal and that the fact he is running at 1200 feet altitude offset the gains from the downhill), he posted the following.
Saki, Not sure what else to say… I do realize that the decline helps I’m fairly decent at understanding that… In the end, I am not getting anything for running the times I do so if you don’t think they are valid so be it… You can remove them or put an asterik by them on AR… Next time I talk to Arin I’ll ask that he note the 1.3% decline on AZ also… I can’t control everything, I live in Ohio, by a particular track so it is what it is… Going forward I’ll keep my times to myself and just focus on the car and improving on the times it runs… That way no one gets biased information and makes claims based on it… No hard feelings I just don’t want to argue about something that I can’t control, and it seems you think I am trying to stack the deck so I will just remove myself from the situation and discussion that way there is no controversy… Thanks and take care, Ron

What’s with that?

Ask him directly, off line. Maybe one of you perceived/interpreted something a little “sideways.” No biggie. Or you simply agree to disagree about some of the items you think are huge and he thinks are neglible. Again - not really a big deal imo.

POP goes the weasel goes the weasel goes POP

king of non sequiturs

lol

So how are those Mets doing?? ;D

if ur talking to me, it makes more sense than you think lol

Interesting exchange with PrimeTime, Saki. I guess we’ll see once other companies release pulley files and have similar levels of performance modifications.
