Holy depreciation batman!

So… Went to pull some nationwide postings for C6S6’s - national average sale price was around 22k last year this time. Today…it’s $13k! WHUT

I got hit again yesterday, so I was pre-emptively looking for average retail in case they want to total it (I don’t think so, but…)

yup, same with the S8, and post fix Q7 diesels also dropped like 10k

This is more reason for us to buy up all of the remaining V10 Audis to singer’ize them and boost the value.

I won’t be surprised if in a few years these car begin to appreciate. They are amazing, rare cars with well built engines (excluding the intake manifold).

Are you sure last year’s average was $22K? I purchased mine in October of last year and the majority (2008-2011) were going for around $16-17K, which to fall to $13K wouldn’t be unfathomable. Any low milage, C6.5+ S6 is still looking around ~$20K. But none the less it’s never a bad idea to look at what the remainder of your car note is, the value of your car and if gap insurance would be worthwhile.

if any texans are looking, here’s one for $8500. just beware of the “boreded out” intake :-\ :-

(no i actually wouldn’t buy this vehicle unless you’re damn near a master tech on this car)

There’s also a nice low mileage 2010 for sale in Garland!

O comment ;D

I agree with this. The market for the most part tends to bottom out at one point and then depending on the demand for the car the price tends to trend up again. The price for these cars will be more dependent on the maintenance work done on the car and the supporting mods. As smart buyers will be looking for certian maintenance work and parts and will be willing to pay more for a car that has had things like the intake replaced.

Plus 1,000,000 right on!

^and low mileage I assume. I am not low mileage anymore…too busy racking them up enjoying the D3 V10 motoring experience! just passed 100k miles on her

Honestly got right since that’s how all cars are, but due to the motor and power train being so long lasting miles may start to matter less and condition and maint May trump. For example, look at a 996 turbo, a clean one with good maint and story even with 80-100k miles commands $30k, now I think the premium will always be in a 911 turbo but I think once the masses figure out how cool the v10 s6 and s8 is and well built and relative reliability after the major weaknesses have been addressed both maint and minor mods we wil see a slight up tick.

I mean just on volume alone there are significantly less s6 and s8 then e60 m5s or really any M car after the early 90s. That will always Be on our side. People will buy and not sell these cars based on the exhaust note alone it’s just that intoxicating as you all know! #driveslowe®carsfast

However, just like one Porsche thread I am on in rennlist, value should be an afterthought just drive the shit out of these cars, enjoy them, maintain them, detail them if u want, go crazy with mods if u want , they are generally well built cars meant to be driven! But those are the reasons we may see the market swing in the future, I think it will be awhile. I honestly don’t want anyone to really find out this secret till I have a couple ;). Happy motoring all

I think it’s a bitter pill to swallow, but once you’re past it then it’s golden. I’ve already decided that I’m going to run this car as far as it will go, and I’m probably going to sink in $5-7K on mods alone. Maybe more if the supercharger yields incredible results… which it probably will! lol. Now if we can get the headers down below $4-5K then I might file bankruptcy to get those too. :stuck_out_tongue:
