Hoping to see some track time this year.

I still have never taken my car to the 1/4 mile. I’m hoping i can make a few passes this year after I finish the car.
Looking to go mid to high 11’s on pump gas.
gt2560’s, pretty laggy but capable none the less.
Not doing a crazy build, just rods, 2.8 heads, and no time to work on any of it.

I think 2560s are the best turbos for these cars. So I solute you on that one. I also have seen lots of great reviews on the ER stuff

The clutch is going to be an issue. Ive never heard anything good on those clutches at that power level. I know the JHM clutch has been impressive. I met one guy with a JHM clutch and he raved about it

Nice car and build. I see tip buttons on the steering wheel, but you mention a spec FW - are you doing a tip to manual swap?

I think I’m showing my ignorance in the B5/turbo world when I say I haven’t seen many with the GT2560’s. Do you have any specific 1/4 mile goals with the car?

I also really like the old school Nav (?RNS-D). Check out RodV8’s threads for JHM clutch info.

I’m not sold that these turbos are the best option but they certainly fit the bill for me. I’ve driven this turbo setup and it is a bit laggy. Many others provide faster spool with comparable top end, which has me condsidering sending them out for BILLET WHEELS.
I’m also not worried about the clutch holding the power. I’ve driven a 605 car with the same clutch and stock flywheel; all you get is wheel spin, not clutch slip.

Yes I did a 6 speed swap as well. Nav is rns-d :slight_smile:

I know nitrous isn’t on your modlist, but I wonder if those tip buttons could be rewired for nitrous? Or something else similarly useful.

Lol, Those buttons could be made to do something useful… haven’t decided what to do with them yet.
If i did do nitrous it would be with a thottle position based controller and window switch. None of this old school push the button stuff.

who tuned the 25 setup you drove? May explain away some of the lag

I tuned the gt25 setup, before that it was on a vast tune and the spool was even worse. Now it starts hitting pretty good around 4k rpms.
I think it was on a base timing map from vast though, which explains it.

Have you had the oportunity to tune a gt2560 car before? if so what would be your imput more in deep regarding this turbos?
I drove a cuple of weeks ago a gt28rs s4 , atp eliminator kit , 18-9lbs pump gas unitronic software , I did not like it at all , laggie the transient response is crap etc.

Yes, i did this turbo setup on my buddies car and it was a bit laggy. decent tq onset around 4krpms on pump gas. This was with vast log manis which aren’t the best design imo.
We ran them at 26 psi and the top end was pretty decent. Meth injection based on inj duty cycle would be a nice addition for this setup to help spool a little.
Driving them around at 18-19 psi is not ideal, you are giving up your low end for nothing.
