How many S6s with over 100k miles?

Here’s my estimated breakdown on each color:

Black: 98%
Other: 2%

;D

Thanks guys. Funny! I saw the sprint blue in a car magazine in 2007 and when I ordered the car in sprint blue, the dealer searched his database and found one in Virginia and one in LA. The one in Virginia was the closest match to what I wanted (silver seats, carbon fiber trim, tech package) the only thing I couldn’t get was the leather stitched dash. It was a $750 upcharge for the paint, and he agreed to split the shipping charge with me (another $500 out of pocket). A guy from the subdivision next to ours bought a sprint blue S5 and a golf buddy bought a sprint blue S4 shortly thereafter. I would like to think I inspired them. I found the original window sticker in case you guys want to see one: http://i1285.photobucket.com/albums/a599/scopemeister1/windowsticker_zpsbwxx65d1.jpg

There’s a guy with a sprint blue S6 in the DC area as well…

yeah there’s a unicorn here in my city too.

Sprint Blue with Platinum Interior (white) gaaaaahhhhh… want so bad.

There was one for sale around the time I bought mine in 2013.

At that time there were 3 Black; 1 White (with brown interior, but comfort seats not recaros); 2 silver and the aforementioned 1 blue.

In Winnipeg, MB Canada (city of 750,000) there are 3 Black ones, 1 blue and 1 silver known to me.

Wow, that’s more S6’s than I’ve seen in person, anywhere. Outside of JHM’s shop (I don’t count that, because their shop is an S6 magnet), I’ve only ever seen I think 4 S6’s. 3 of them were C7’s, and the fourth was a black C6 just like mine, the only other C6 I’ve ever seen in person (besides at JHM). Now that I think about it, I actually did spot a 5th one in Athens, Greece a couple years ago, which was also a black C6.

On the other hand, I see S4’s and S5’s almost daily. Not sure why the S6 ended up being so unpopular, it’s probably the coolest car Audi has ever made besides the R8. Maybe the price point was/is just not really in the right spot for north american sales.

I agree. I’ve seen 10+ R8s at various times throughout the neighborhood, a C7 S6, plenty of S7s and even 1 RS7. I’ve only seen one S6 C6 while coming from the city and I just about shit a brick because you just don’t see them.

Aw snap. I passed on a Sprint Blue listed in Chicago in late 2013 and bought a black one instead. The black was listed at $2k less and I paid a below that. But if someone would have told me how much I’d have to put into the car over the next 4 years I would have certainly gone for the Blue. It was a beauty.

My 2008 has 121K, bought in 2010 with about 42K on it. Working on getting it ready for the next 100K.

dayyyyyyyyyum… Mr. Scopemeister, you rule! Bought new in blue, track it, and 911 cab stablemate :sunglasses:

TITS!

anywho

This thread is certainly inspiring! LOVE hearing the high mileage testaments. Awesome.

black (of course) '07 here bought 2yrs ago @ 93k now 126k

I used to think I wanted a Quattroporte next, but - yup - AWD v10 sport sedan w/ folding rear seats is hard to beat! I’ll have mine at least 2-3 more years. New mani and carbon clean w/ JHM phenolic created new love for the riiiiiiiiiidculous 120 pull these things hammer out. Found 175 last week, 1300 left on tach and still pulling hard. Crykie. Wish it were blue tho heh heh. It’s kinda funny tho, as my good bud in town here and I both have black S6’s… and red 911’s… swear we didn’t plan that.

When it’s all used up, I’m hoping for an RS4 cab for my daily - love me my verts and by then hoping need for 3 across rear seat will be much less an issue with teens less and less all with me.

Thanks for the props Hans! IMHO, Its a good no go on the Quattroporte, a buddy of mine had one and said it was a beauty but very high maintenance, sort of like most supermodels, or so Im told. I’ve been fortunate with my S6 in that at (now 112K) miles, it has been rock solid reliable for 10 years and 3 months. Its good to see that there are a couple more S6/911 guys around. Its a tough choice every morning (except when the weather sucks), made even more tougher by JHM.

Cheers!

Black 07. Just checked and I’m getting close to 110K miles. Last 25k done by me.

i bought 2007 in 2013. Had 198K. Crazy. All records and service done at Audi Warwick. I couldn’t afford more than $20k so I got it for $18k. Today has 253K miles on it. All stock. Cant stop driving it.

Wow, that’s insane! 198K miles or KM?

Thanks. Glad to know they can last over 250k miles…

Could you post the highlights of the service that’s been done and the mileage at service? Would be nice to know what may be on the horizon.

Love seeing these cars with super high miles. 250k is ALOT of miles.
We got ours with 69k on it, and put 20k on it in 1 year, zero problems. Of course right after it had massive misfires, did the carbon and injector clean, ran grea,t now has oil leaks out the rear timing covers and dissapearing coolant. But as long as the engine and trans itself is fine, the aluminum s8 body shows no signs of wear, we hope to put another easy 100k miles on it.

Welcome dom great to hear the car is still running strong. These motors and most of the Audi NA motors are strong long runners as long as you follow the maintenance and do the little supporting things that need to be done like carbon clean injector clean fuel system inspections and use a good quality oil

Thanks to all for well wishes. Where do miles go? It has 257K. And soon as I post miles here, problems. Think narrowed down to HHFP, low resistance, shorting out. But I always enjoyed turning wrenches but enjoy even more on these cars. I replaced Intake Manifold (from JHM no spacers) around 230K, did carbon clean, valve cover gaskets, O-Rings oil cooler and oil filter mount under intake, radiator last fall, 2 PCV oil seperators, and coil packs once etc. replaced all front end control arms, both air bag sensors and sure I forgot some stuff.
I do have small oil leak front again and maybe leak from transfer case or trans, not sure yet but small amounts. Will address after this latest issue with fuel pump.
But all in all if cars are your passion or just hobby, these Audis are fun car to own and drive.

That’s great that you only list the “normal” maintenance-type items. I think posts like these are important to demonstrate, at least anecdotally, that these cars can be reliable over the long haul. Welcome to the forum!

agree 100%. Do the maintenance and its a solid car.
