As many of you know I have been pretty aggressive in my search and I would say that a large portion of these cars is doing very well at or over 100k. I see the majority of them over or right near 100k.
I too have seen several over 165k and still going strong.
I’d say most are and the remainder under typically fall significantly under 100K Miles. For example, when I was shopping for a S6 C6.5 I saw a 09 with 40K Miles but those are > 10% of the S6s on the market.
Mine right now has just over 70K and it’s always a relief to see older S6s running for a long time. Settles down my panic knowing I have time to get in all the JHM mods lol
I have 123k and drive my JHM tuned 2008 every day.
Interesting you ask the question, getting the car back tomorrow. Had some minor oil leaks that i let go, which naturally got worse. Replacing valve cover gaskets, oil cooler and seals. Not the best timing with Christmas, but that’s what i get for waiting.
Anyway, i think at this point, most of the usual suspects has been replaced or repaired. Current plan is to keep it until the cost of ownership outweighs the fun of driving it. After every shop visit i ask myself the same question, and all i come up with is “what would i replace it with?”
This is exactly what I’m always thinking. I still love the looks, comfort and performance. I enjoy every time I drive the car. There’s nothing out there that has gotten my attention, so I’ll keep driving it…
Also bought mine a year and a half ago, at that time i had 85K now i have 97K.
so far the car is ok given the maintenance I’ve done, there is room for improvement but baby steps.
hopefully i can keep this car for another 5 yrs or until EVs take over the market.
bought at 98k here. about to do a decent overhaul. from everything i’ve read here, i expect the car to at least hit 150k, and very well 200k. looking forward to many happy miles and years ahead
Mine is a 06 currently on 162k and still going strong. Had it custom remapped by MRC here in the UK and dyno figures after remap showed it at 435bhp. We never expected any great increase on paper from the remap (it was showing 417bhp after carbon clean prior to remap) but it has released a hell of a lot of performance- from what I read on here about cars after the JHM tune it sounds very similar.
No its not a typo. I bought it brand new in 2007 and cant find a good substitute. I have a 911 GTS cabriolet for warm sunny days so the S6 is my foul weather friend - and there is plenty of foul weather in Wisconsin! How can I replace a V10, AWD, all weather family sedan? Besides, the old gal just got a JHM makeover - the fountain of youth!
Just noticed your avatar… is it true? There’s another C6 S6 out there being taken to HPDEs regularly? I haven’t seen any at any of the track days done by PCC-ACNA. Maybe next year.
scopemeister Please start a new thread. Its great to have new threads with build updates for members and just casual site readers to get more first hand experience. That and its always great to hear more and more modded S6 threads.
I haven’t gotten it out to Road America Since 2009. I track my 911 now since its cheaper to track.
The first time I got it out there in 2008, there was a pro photographer shooting car porn for a fee so I bought these photos from him:
That blue is very rare. Its a good bold color for that kind of car. It would be interesting to get the breakdown on each color and how many were made.
Depending on how old you car is you should be able to call Audi customer support give them your vin and they can tell you how many cars they made for that year and how many were made in each color.
