Yes it is. Is it leaking or are you just changing it to change it. If you have just the seal your going to need some special tools.
nevermind, didn’t realize the crankshaft had a shim on it. sucker was stuck on. thanks for nothing bentley
Did you remove the crank spacer or whatever it’s called?
There are a couple specific tools, but you don’t really need them.
The Bently can sometimes cause more harm then good. Snap some pictures and make a quick DIY to post b here for the future guys doing the same job as you. Just be careful putting it back in going perfectly straight is your best friend.

Got the trans on tonight then found #18 in this pic. Soooo I get to take everything off again tomorrow, making the last 7 hours a giant waste. Unless one comes preinstalled? Which I doubt.

Will do. Fun fact, it only lines up one way. I lost my lines when I cleaned it before putting it back on. But all 8 bolts will only line up in one orientation. I am a pro at the rear seal now since I just did it twice in as many days hah
Yeah its not too hard but it sucks when you become an expert that way. Piece of mind is worth the time you put in to put the small seals in.
