I always get the “sorry you can’t just view any profile”.
What’s the reason for this?

I don’t know but if I were guessing the fact that your email address and stuff is visible in your profile.
Why do you need to see a profile anyway? I have thought it would be a good way to search someone else’s posts but I can’t think of another reason…and the search function can always help you see someone’s posts.
On other forums you can create a “friend list” to have a more intimate relationship with each other plus you can post in their profile if you have a direct question. If you dont want people to see you email address just uncheck the box.
What actually caused me to do this is , i saw a memeber with the name jupiteraudi and i wanted to see if he was local.
That’s what I use the pm or private message for.
It is like email within the forum, replete with notifications etc.
