Hp Question bolt on JHM b6 vs bolt on E46

How much HP does a JHM bolt on car make to the wheels without the S/C? I drove down to philly today and went to VAC with my cousin. He had to drop off his e46 for some mods and they told us after all his mods he going to be running 315-320hp to the wheels after hes done. . . I dont think its alot!!! but thats just me. . .

What bolt ons?

my car without headers or a lwfw and on an older tune did 328awhp and 300wtq, so add in the headers and a newer tune and I’d say 340whp/320wtq would be a safe estimate

e46
Full Exhaust w/ Super sprint race headers,LWFW & race clutch,Racing pullys,Csl air box with the alpha tune and Cams. . .

I mean the s4

Tune,Intake Manifold,headers,Cat-back,LWFW & Stage 4 clutch,LW Pullys. . .

Imagine if JHM made cams for the b6!

This is kinda like comparing apples to oranges. AWD vs RWD

What do you think is a lot OP?

and by E46, I assume M3? because E46 is the generation, which had multiple trims and engine options…

My car made 312AWHP / 300WTQ before my JHM intake manifold.

Don’t base too much off of a dyno run.

Why would it be like camparing Apple to Oranges when their under the same category? The B6 s4 came out to Compete against the E46 M3. . .just saying! Anyway I dont care I just wanted to know how much Hp does the JHM car produce?? If its even worth it for me to modd it even more than what I have done to it!!

here you go man, this is what you want…it’s a good video if you have never seen it.

It’s worth whatever you want it to be worth, do you have any goals? (1/4 goals, road course goals) Do you want a dyno queen?

I’m not sure your on the right track with your cam comment. Seems like without head work, cams would be expensive and wouldn’t produce much power, we already have 40 valves. We can only dream of the bolt on power of chevy LS motors, heads cam tune = 100hp.

frankly no car has dyno’d like beemercer’s car did so either it was a bit freakish, or his dyno was a little bit funky. There was a fairly large jump where the numbers gapped up quite considerably. Unfortunately it was in an accident and never made it to the strip.

JHM’s car with headers etc. etc. etc. only dyno’d around 320 whp/310 wtq at 034 motorsports.

jhm’s car was on 91 though, cant do nearly as much with the 91 tunes. And additionally we know how Jay dynos his cars.

All 3 of my pulls were similar numbers, the one which they sent me the chart of was actual a lower number. There were a number (15) of other cars that dynoed that same day that put down the numbers we expected to see (including the 370whp PES RS4 lol).

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a healthy full bolt on car dyno on 93.

You sure?

Thought it was 93. They dynod 310 on 91…added some 100 to bring the avg up for the 93 tune

I have been looking into cams and the only company that makes cams for this engine is Schrick. They advertise a 264 degree intake duration and a 272 degree exhaust duration which is measured at 0.004mm lift. Which a sport cam rather than a 300+ degree racing cam like what is offered for some of the older BMWs.

There was a tread on Audizine a few years ago where some guy got those cams put in and there was not much gain with whatever shitty tune that he had at the time. Also can’t find anybody other than a German company (motodyne doesnt count because they rip you off!) that offers those camshafts since Schrick has not responded to my messages. Let’s not forget to put in the camshafts it would either require an engine pull plus tear down or someone who has done it before since the timing chains are on the back.

Jhm looked into it and said skip I believe (cams)…

1 nominal gains for huge cost
2 lumpy idle wouldn’t be well received by most Audi owners

cams wont do much without headwork, gutless low end with a mild gain up top

[quote=nogarobeast]I have seen that vid and no its not a jhm b6. . . I would like to get my car in the 12s thats my goal! but im starting to think just buy a B8 s4 and do the tune and pully and thats it!! GAME OVER!!!

^^^yup, that’s the way to get into the mid 12s @ 112…and be $50,000 poorer.

yeah the 317/310 was 91 octane w/ 91 tune, full boltons, and a 120*F intake manifold

the 100 octane pass was 327whp/338wtq on a 93 octane tune, with an iced intake manifold

Its funny how most everyone forgets that last part…lol
