HVAC Blower motor

My S6 has been parked for the past few months as I replaced the alternator. When I got her going yesterday the blower motor would not do anything. There was a HVAC code, I didn’t save it as usually there’s a ton of codes when you re-connect the battery again. Any other re-scans haven’t produced any codes. I’ve pressed all buttons, and nothing seems to make the blower… blow.

Would that produce a code? Seems like it would do that… Is there a relay or fuse for the blower motor?

Anyone else have this happen?

If you pull the fuse cover it should be listed on the chart, try the right side in the door jamb fuse panel first.

If you have VCDS check into HVAC and see if there is an output test on the blower.

Also see if this helps.

I didn’t see anything in the service manual other than removing the blower motor so that was no help. Good luck, and let us know!

You can get very confusing results from disconnecting the battery without unplugging the battery management module first and plugging it back in after reconnecting the battery. In my case the battery management module and the gateway module could communicate, but the gateway would not communicate with tons of other modules. In my case I unplugged battery management, disconnected battery, deenergized the car, connected battery, plugged battery management back in and everything was normal again. As you said car sat for months I would check for rodent damage, fuse, power at blower plug, if blower has power and doesn’t run its a communication issue to the HVAC module.
