Long story short. Downloaded it to my MacBook Pro. Reinstalled thrice! No it always appear hung at startup for a few minutes, and always says “Discover Safari, Bitch!” when I open a web browser window. Fuck you Apple. Mavericks already sucked. Yosemite is a big piece of dog doody!!
Fixed that for you. Yes. I thought it would of fixed messed up Mavericks, but no joy. Guess I am stuck until I can get back to civilization to do anything about it.
I got it working on my 13 MBAir; downloaded it last night ONLY to figure out the SMS relay doesn’t work until iOS 8.1 is released (that happened today).
So far, its pretty neat.
I like the continuity; experimented with Pages and Numbers on both the MBAir and iPhone.
Remote Safari features are pretty cool; definitely like the ability to close whatever tab is up on my MB/iPhone from whatever platform, in the event I’m in the room and I don’t want someone to see what I have up.
SMS Relay is neat; I can now text people from the MB without having to go find my phone
Answer/Make calls/facetime from MB is pretty cool; same reaction as SMS Relay
Dark mode looks way better than the grey; definitely digging the transparency thing…WAY more transparent than the Obama Administration!
Touchpad features are easier to use than before.
Safari is less “bitchier” than before; slimmed down and minimal.
ahh damn, apparently you need a 2012 laptop or newer to do the SMS continuity. mine is a 2011.
I’ve been wanting to upgrade for a while but this computer still works soooo damn good. Works faster than pretty much all of my friends laptops, minus the newer apple laptops.
Cool thing about Macbook pros is that they hold their value so well, I bought this laptop for $2000 3 years ago, looking at prices I can get $1200 for this guy, $800 over 3 years is $270 per year. Paying $300 a year for a laptop isn’t too shabby, especially when I use it daily and it isn’t slower, holds battery life for 4+ hours, and still looks good as new.
My first apple laptop was one of those black plastic ones, paid like $1300 for it, back in…06/07 used it four years, handed it off to my younger brother who still uses it. Only maintenance it ever needed was a new battery in almost 8 years…in 8 years you go through 4 windows laptops easy lol.
