I know this topic is beaten to death but lets talk wheels...

Any 9" wheel under ET35 is getting pretty aggressive. The B8 RS4 reps are just starting to hit the market, so I am sure you will start to see more (and they are now being offered in B8 fitment on the 2015 B8.5 S4).

superforgiata

ADV.1 trak spec are suppose to be pretty light but I have yet to look into them

I talked with them and they seemed pretty heavy. The trak SL specs cost like $12K for a set.

well then forgot those ADV.1s

How about these prime?

^ Those are nice!

Dig the Renn RS-51. Would have gone with those had I not already ordered a set of wheels.

I’d avoid ADV.1. I’ve read several bad stories about their wheels as well as their customer service. They have also been caught lying about certifications a number of times.

Have you ever considered CCW wheels? They are a very good compromise between extreme-strength!, light weight and $$$. Do a search on CCW c10’s or c14’s (Big in the Porsche / corvettes racing community).
Only sold by CCW.
Someone with decent precision machining knowledge like yourself would appreciate these wheels.
All forged and machined in the US.

Here’s our new design. We didn’t have time to clean/finish the wheel before SOWO but it turned out pretty nice anyways - So the finish on it is completely RAW (it will not look like that when it’s done). It’s 19x8.5 ET45 on a MK7 GTI. Weighs 18.7 lbs is forged. We’ll look into more weight reduction, different offsets, sizes, concave, etc. Tons of brake clearance too.

I’ll probably end up with a set on my car.

Nice! Great looking wheel! Was curious about them after I saw pics…

APR making wheels? Neat.

Pretty cool Arin. Thanks for sharing. Pretty good weight too for 19 x 8.5 wheels. Be cool to see the finished products and what finishes you go with.

more like amazing, no?

wow! :o

when are these being launched?

price range est?

are offsets custom or +45 only?

read arin’s post maybe?

5 lbs lighter than your BBS Ron, a viable option.

All depends on price. When are you releasing all the info Arin?

If they’re properly forged (not flow forged etc) they’d have to be $3000 or more.

APR isn’t exactly known for offering “budget friendly” products… Wheels look great though.

Those look great!

I really don’t have all the details yet. We’re just in the beginning stages.

I’m trying to see how viable these wheels would be. 18 lbs or so for 18x9 et 33 I believe, at a little over $300 per wheel http://www.getyourwheels.com/view-wheel/enkei-wheels/enkei-rpf1-silver-. They don’t make many with audi fitments, so I believe I’d have to run adapter rings which I’m not a fan of. Would run 265/35R18 R888 which would be a -1.6% rolling diameter difference from the stock 18" fitment. Advantage of that setup is I believe I could source R888’s from used track tire outfits. Not sure how positive you all are about that avenue, but tons of guys at the hpde’s I attended had used tires for around $400/set. Single heat cycled from a qualifying session. I’ll probably need to research how available that tire size is.

The other option would be tsw nurburgring wheels in 18x9.5 et 40 which would be a perfect fitment, come in 21 lbs. These would be only for the track, so I’d be trading looks for performance, since I think the tsw’s look a hell of a lot better than the rpf1’s.
